What would be the a more effective list with ork against gk? I right now I have trukk spam list made up I was looking for some opinions I am playing my friend this weekend and this will be the first time I meet the infamous GK on the field.

I run a very niche Ork list. Everything foot apart from 2 squads full of Nobz in Trukks, and I have to say that GK are not a great match up for Orks, and this goes for Trukk Orks as well. I'm usually able to hide the Trukks until they get close enough to unload the Nobz, warboss and Ghazzy into the enemy lines but with Grey Knights this is a tough call. They are normally packing so many dreadnoughts that you can't hide them as they have many angles covered.
Green tide Orks also suffer as Purifiers will just hammer them. Kan Wall suffers a similar issue to Trukk Orks, you may well have a cover save but they are going to be hitting your Kans with so many shots you simply cannot save them all.
The best option that I would say is Battlewagon Orks. The AV14 can cause a bit of a hassle for GK and allows you to get close enough a lot of the time to hit them with the boyz inside, just try not to expose your side armour too much.

thanks man, I have another list with 3 battlewagons in it I know its going to be a tough match up but hey as I recall. Da Boyz iz da Best!  ,
its just for fun any way I was just looking to see if I was missing anything cause the grey knight have a lot of little kinks to them that are just "great", haha

Well really it depends on what the gk is running. Cf have potential to hurt ork but it wounds on 4+ but you'll still get armor saves. Most boyz coming out of vehicles will overwhelm small purifier squads.
Gk need their shooting to be very good to whittle numbers before assaults or they wont have enough coming back.
Power armor gk have to give up their nfw to get a psycanon. The psyfleman won't be overwhelming vs boys either since at best they only kill 4 a turn.
Outside of the vindicare the gk have very little shotting that will hurt the AV 14 if you have any of the battlewagon def rolla stuff. If you have more of an idea what hes running you can get better pointers.

I face orks a lot. One thing I cannot stand is kans. Loads of kans. Especially cans in CC with teams having only one NDH.
Get more kans.

@Seb, So you feel a Kan wall would work well? the only problem is the mobility and chance of them not making it there.

Also expect to be Purifying flamed far far too much.
It's vicious against Orks, with their beercan saves.
Avoid this by meching up
I would say take BW's and Burnas...
Orky Purifying flame Automatically Appended Next Post: KFF helps a lot against GK antitank, and practically everything else outside of CC...

I dont' care who you are burnas are brutal if they can drop all those templates on you. lol Then they're power weapons to boot. Very gnarly if you can drop them on some gk. Yea Ascalam is right about KFF being good since at 1500 the gk shooting even with 3 dreads is limited.

As an Ork player I find Kanns put the most hurt on GK's.
I run slightly odd lists that assault around turn 3 though.
6 kanns, 4 grotzooka 2 big shootas
2 battlewagons (use 3 Man's to get one) I know the mans are bad in this match, but the wagon is more for boyz to steal.
2x 20 boyz with shootas pk nob 2 rokkits
Then throw in trukk boy squads, and I like some bikes as well.
I do use a mek as an HQ.
I slow play the trukks and wagons (don't rush them up right away).
The nice thing is that if they are shooting at the trucks, the kanns live a turn, and do wonders in close combat, if they are shooting the kanns, you are getting enough klaws in close combat to do great justice, and if they break a wagon you have a kann wall to fall behind for the 4+ save.
The Manns going into a trukk instead of a wagon spreads out target saturation, and if the Mans charge in second, you can try to limit the amount of people that can attack them. The grotzooka's should space the GK's out enough to help you with that.
The bikers will most likely get shot off the table, but their role is to protect a flank, and then draw enough fire to get everything 1 turn closer to assault.

The thing thing about any discussion concerning why orks did something usually ends with because they are orks, and noone seems to argue, or offer further questioning.

KANz should always be in cover due to KFF. If not, the ork player missed the point of a kan wall.
Personally I'm doing quite well against GK with battlewagon lists, as nothing but psycannons can actually put a dent in them. The list also discourages the GKs from taking midfield, which is a place where they like to be.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:

One of the few times Id advocate the use of a net list. I too would run BW in my list against the GK. Id have one with nobs and BigMek, one with burnas and 1 with boyz/nob and boss (or Ghaz if your into that sort of thing) and do like Jidmah suggested, just push as hard as you could into their lines. And for once, Id probably use koptas over rokkit buggies, though Im not sure on that, Id have to play around with it, but mainly, looking at them keeping the psy dreads from doing their business

When I played Orks my roommate had a GK army. I started winning every game when I used a green tide list. 150+ Ork boyz can't be dealt with soon enough, and when they get into CC with GK (which they will) they always ground down GK's just like normal marines. You won't have many orks left at the end of the battle, but it'll be enough.
I used Ghaz + KFF Mek- this increased survivability and made sure I got into CC faster with the guaranteed 6" run during WAAGH! Arming your boyz with rokkits works nicely, I found that even though they have poor BS, boyz can still reliably open 1-2 transports when you max out rokkits. And you want those transports opened when you get into WAAGH! range.
Koptas are also nice against any opponent. They are usually dependable for getting that first turn rhino pop or dread kill.

Well thanks a lot guys I like the green tide idea, I am excited for this game the only marines I have played is BA and luckily for me I crumed'm  . But this should be an interesting game I only have one kopta at the moment :/ so I guess I won't using them but I will try a little of everything with all this wonderful advice.

Ok, just watch out for those purifiers or they are going to cause you serious pain. Best to take a way of effectively taking them out with you.
