German Shepherd Trees Mountain Lion
February 22, 2012 Posted by ADMIN in Dog News No comments California Department of Fish and Game spokeswoman Janice Mackey said Cody, an 85-pound German shepherd, spotted a male mountain lion around 7:30 a.m. yesterday near La Barranca and Elena roads in Los Altos, and promptly chased him up a tree.

NBC Bay Area Reporter Bob Redell visited Cody and his owner and manged to record impressive footage of the big cat. Fortunately, the mountain lion descended from the tree around 10 and was allowed to saunter away unharmed.

Cody’s owner John Sphar said he will lock his goats in a barn tonight in case the cat returns for another visit, having previously lost a goat to a mountain lion in 2010.

Per NPR, the doggie is bit sized to the lion, but that it may have thought it was a wolf and evidently wolves eat mountain lions.

Yet another reason dogs rule and cats drool.

...urrrr... I dunno

This dog probably saves people from fires and bears in it's spare time, I'd reckon.
It seems the type to do so.

German shepherds can be pretty fierce to be fair.

Ever thought 40k would be a lot better with bears?
