I'm a HUGE space marine fan. I love the "good" (I use the term VERY loosely) of the 40k universe but now that I'm on my way to having 2 2k+ points space marines armies I'm looking for something that's EVIL and fun to play =)
I like most if not all of the "evil" races I've leaned towards necrons in the past but I'm going to play something that's a little darker.
I've gone through the chaos - chaos daemons - dark eldar - necrons - orks whims but I'm still unsure what I could play competitively but still have some fun lists. I know a good bit about most of the armies but I love to paint and do modeling but I want something from the other side of the highway that can still stick with all of the MEQ players =)
So what do you guys think the xenos and traitor's are bringing to the table for fun and playability =)

Dark Eldar - Finesse Army, but very powerful

Necrons - Like a cross between Eldar and SM

Chaos - Like sm.

For the fluff side...Dark Eldar for they live for the pain and strong feeling of others. The tortures they inflict are just horrendous.
For the gaming side...Have to go Chaos because they will be getting a new Codex in the near future....

Dark Eldar or Chaos...
Even then it's fairly relative...
Chaos are just another competing faction with different beliefs.
Dark Eldar are just trying to survive though in fairness they don't have to enjoy it so much...
In game terms Necrons or Dark Eldar...
Necrons are mostly good with shooting but have some CC units (Not brilliant ones though)
Dark Eldar are a glass cannon army mostly.

Dark Eldar seem to be a good idea...
+ You can have 'trophies' of your defeated SM enemies after you have killed them/captured them

That's what I was straying away from CSM but I liked the daemons....and I could play them in fantasy

Do you have to venom spam to be competitive with dark eldar? I was looking at tau a while back but not any more XD I just want something completely different than my space marines I thought orks might be fun because who doesn't love DUH BOIZ! but I'm not sure about them either =/
