Here's another attempt at a mech list, this one based on what I already own. Since I started off with a Descent of Angels list, my collection is somewhat limited. Yes, I'd rather replace that second dreadnought with a predator of some kind - maybe another Baal - but I don't own that second predator, yet, so it's not going to happen. And, at about $50, it's not going to happen too soon.

All the same, I want to know what you think of my first attempt, and what I can learn from your feedback (before I start to learn things from fielding it).

Here we go. 1500 points.

HQ
* Terminator Librarian w/Force Weapon and Storm Shield (Sanguine Sword, Shield of Sanguinius)

Elites
* Assault Terminators (3 Lightning Claws, 2 Thunder Hammer/Storm Shield)
* Furioso Dreadnought w/Blood Fists (Heavy Flamer and Meltagun)

Troops
* 5 Assault Marines (Powerfist, Meltagun) in a Razorback (Lascannons, Searchlight)
* 5 Assault Marines (Powerfist, Meltagun) in a Razorback (Lascannons, Searchlight)
* 5 Assault Marines (Powerfist, Meltagun) in a Razorback (Lascannons, Searchlight)

Fast Attack
* Baal Predator (Assault Cannons)

Heavy Support
* Stormraven w/Searchlight (Assault Cannons and Multi-Meltas)
* Dreadnought w/Searchlight, Twin-Linked Autocannons (x2)

The idea is that the assault terminators, librarian, and furioso hang out in the stormraven. The baal almost certainly outflanks (as would a second, if I replaced the dreadnought with one). In this list, the dreadnought hangs back and provides long-range cover fire (hence the autocannon love - the other possibility, other than another Baal, would be to replace the dreadnought with a lascannon pred). If I go first, I deploy everything except the outflanking baal(s). The marines charge towards (or hang back and hold) objectives (in or out of their rides), the laserbacks shoot at things, and the stormraven tries to deliver the terminators for an alpha strike. If I go second, keep pretty much everything in reserve and count on my speed to get me into position.

What do you think? In particular, I'm interested in answering the following questions:

* What do you think in general (of course)?
* What do you think about the shooty dreadnought who hangs back.
* What would you do with those points if you could do anything (legal)?

Looks very much like a mech list I would run.

My only comment - Your putting a 700 point stormraven on the table, which is a problem in my opinion.

I would drop either the furioso or the terminators, and switch the librarian to a power armored one. Put him in a razorback, so he can use shield to cover them. They are a bit weak against incoming fire, and really need that 5+ to help them survive.

Use those saved points to throw in another tank of some kind. Another predator or razorback, or perhaps even a second stormraven.

This is pretty good, given your models constraint.

It would be better if you could put some other very threatening vehicles on the table, like Vindicators, to punish your opponent for focusing on the Stormraven. Assuming this is what you have, though, it's a focused, cohesive list.

Current Record: 5 Wins, 6 Draws, 3 Losses 2000 points

In Progress: 500 points

Very similar to blood angels lists i would play, my main concern is with only 3 scoring units on the table you might struggle in capture and control games. I love my stormraven but it just doesn't last to turn 5! Given your model constraint its a good list though and not much i would change!
