I'm trying to find a paint scheme for my grots that I like. I'm looking for something close to the Gretchin green color but it's kind of a pal/pastel green. The other greens don't seem to do well for the basecoat or highlight though. It ins up looking odd. I'd like them to be a different green from my boys, nobs and bosses though. Something that will add more to the battlefield. I'm going for a bright color pallette for the whole army so they really pop from a distants. (not eye jarring). The boss will be dark than the nobs and the nobs will be darker than the boyz as per fluff but I'm kinda lost with the grots. Don't really like the look of the one I'm painting in the boys color scheme as a test subject. It doesn't look right. Any help would be great. Pictures if you have any so I can kind of get a visual idea to would be greatly appriceated.

I'd try this:
Prime in White.
Basecoat in Orkhide
Midlayer in Snot
Highlight in Scorpion
See what you think of that.

I'd suggest taking whatever paint you used for the boys, and mixing it 1:1 with either Bleached Bone, or Sunburst Yellow.

Also, if you're using a wash that isn't Thrakka, use Thrakka on them.

Prime white.
Wash in devlan mud.
Do your highlights in bleached bone.
Wash in Thraka green.

I'll have give those a try as well. Was thinking of using gretchin green as the base coat but I wasn't sure what paint to mix it with to get the highlights and still keep the overall color tone if that makes any since.

If you want to make it BRIGHT, go yellow, if you want to make it pale, go white, if you want to make it flat, go red. be careful with red though, as a 1:1 would give you brown or grey. I haven't played with GW paints enough to know what the good mix is for green/red, I just know that there are some awesome Blood Angels that got a Thrakka wash.
