Tiger I E

Tiger 1 E
Tiger 1 E

Panzergrenadier Platoon
3 squads (smg command squad)

1 8.8 FlaK with recovery halftrack and extra crew

troops are there, really just to take objectives, and can get there quicker being in their kfz 70 trucks (love the models for those)

Needs more FlaK, recon and artillery. How many points is this?

Maybe drop the 2nd Panzergrenadier platoon for a couple of 88 flak guns. The only thing you really lack here is AA. One Panzergrenadier platoon can protect you against infantry and the Tigers have anti-tank covered. 88s will give you some more anti-tank and give you some reliable AA fire(Tigers are vulnerable to the jabos!)

No problem. FoW rewards a combined arms approach so while Tigers are excellent in tank to tank fighting and can hold their own in assault (against select opponents) they'll struggle against other things.

FlaK: 88s are a poor choice of FlaK for a Tiger force IMO. They have a low rate of fire and are immobile. Any of the armoured FlaKwagons and FlaKpanzers are a better choice.

Recon: Recon will help stop ambushes and can remove Gone to Ground from enemy units, making it easier for your Tigers to shoot them. Any of the cheap recon choices are good for this.

Artillery: Cheap artillery such as Nebelwerfers will allow you to pin and smoke enemies. Pinned enemies cannot advance on you and are easier to assault. Smoke will cover your advance.

Using Grey Wolf I came up with this (1495/1500). It needs some recon but you don't have much to play with since your tigers take up nearly 1100 points. You could probably lower the size of the Panzergrenadier and Nebelwerfer platoons to squeeze in some scouts or armoured cars. To be honest I don't think 1,500 is a good size for Tiger lists

Tiger 1e 225

2 Tiger 1e 430
2 Tiger 1e 430

3 FlaKpanzer 38t 120
3 15cm NW41 Launchers 105
3 Panzergrenadier squads 185

Hearing about what air power can do now I think the big cats might be in tough even with AA cover.

Yeah,

I feel like all of the big cats do best when they are used as support for other types of companies, not when they are the main company.

this is a "mid" war list, so tigers are 385 each.
