I started on WH40K last year, and I've been slowly building up an Ork army from the Black Reach set.
However, I have a question regarding the 1 Nob you can take in a Boyz mob - can that Nob take any of the wargear listed in the Nobz entry under Elites, even if it's not explicitly listed in the Nob section of the Boyz Mob entry?
Bottom line: I'd like to attach a Nob to one of my Boy Mobz with a twin-linked shoota, but I'm not sure if it's allowed.

Far, far better to have a nob with a powerklaw in the front.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Yeah, he would have had a powerklaw as well, but it's looking like he'll be more effective if he's on the front lines of an assault.

No, you cannot give him the waaagh banner, as it isnt an option in the Nob entry for the troops choice "Boyz".

You CAN give him a big shoota / rocket, as any member of the boyz unit can be assigned one

Actually, a question about the Power Klaw - Furious Charge gives +1 to Initiative and Strength in CC, but a Power Klaw always delivers attacks at an Initiative of 1. What's the initiative if both apply (i.e. for a Warboss or Nob)?

As Ghaz said, the rules for the klaw clearly state that it strikes at I1 regardless of other modifiers. You do get to add the +1 Strength on the charge, though, so hit at S9.

A PK doubles the model's strength. A regular Nob is S4, so their regular PK attack is at S8. The +1Furious Charge bonus is only added after the doubling of the model's strength, so a regular Nob will assault at S9. For a S5 Warboss, his strength would be doubled to 10. Since no Characteristic except Armour Value can be above 10, the Furious Charge Bonus does not add. Sorry, S10 only for a Warboss, but it is the best possible in the game!

No, as BODMAS applies, and ALL stats (except AV) are capped at 10, apart from Bonus Attacks which can go above 10

So you do Sx2 ,then add one for FC. For a Nob this is S8+1, for a warboss this is S10, no +1 as you cannot go above 10

The exception to this is the GK power hammerhand, which explicitly adds +1S *before* multiplying
