This report is a discussion in several parts of data gathered about the Khadrovian Konfederation's use of standard and non-standard armored fighting vehicles or A.F.V.'s. Since the konfederation showed up on our horizon, the Imperium has been attempting to ascertain their strength in the Eastern sectors as to formulating whether to have them re-integrate with the Imperium, leave them as they are as they are devoted to the Emperor on Earth, but encourage cooperation, or, whether a campaign against them was feasible at a time when the enemies of Man are all around us, and our resources are taxed as it is across the galaxy? The aim of this report is to help make the final determination. It is this data that leads me to sway to the first or second part and avoid the third option altogether, I have found that the Khadrovian manufactories are quite active, and their zeal and dedication to the eradicating of Chaos and Xeno threats is high. Their production of tanks alone is staggering! I myself observed tanks coming off assembly lines, ready for battle and rolled to waiting transports for the unit they were to be in holding spray painters. The rate was one tank per line, every forty hours standard time.

I will start with the more conventional designs, as the Khadrovians have lines manufacturing the STC patters of the ubiquitous Leman Russ patterns of battle tanks. Of course, they have a different label for each and every Leman Russ variants as their T-100, of which the most widely used, as with the Imperium is the Leman Russ armed with the standard Battle Cannon, which happens to be a very versatile weapon as it can deal with infantry very well, and buildings and enemy tanks with the High Explosive Impactor shells. This is designated the T-100A model. Which as can be noted is the Phaeton pattern version, I have included one of our phaeton pattern models as a referent point as I had yet to acquier a pict corder for this.

Next, I did manage with the aid of a cheaper pict recorder, managed to gather some pics of the Khadrovian version of the Leman Russ Exterminator, armed with the twin-linked auto-cannons, notice the enclosed periscope in place of the hatch? the design of the turret is also odd and not seen before. This they call the T-110B and it has the bow mounted Las-cannon for dealing with heavy armor opponents like a Leman Russ
[/img]

As seen here, this model is some sort of squadron leader as it has a massive comms array grouping on the back of the turret.
[/img]

The building I was hiding in was pointed at by the main turret, Las-cannon, and a sponson Heavy Bolter
[/img]

Now another model, a variant of the battle cannon, is the Nova cannon, and the tank carrying that fearsome anti-infantry weapon is the T-110C which we call the "eradicator", again, I have used a patter substitute as they use the phaeton pattern turret

Now they have used in battle the Punisher Gatling Cannon and have designated that model the T-100D and their version also has the lower silhouette turret we know so well. I have had to also supply a Imperial standard pic as a reference as it was not possible for me to gather the pict data but in their colors is how it will appear on the field.

Now I did manage to get a pic of a battle worn Leman Russ Vanquisher of theirs, the commander is wearing an earlier style of camo uniform. It also sports a different patter of Vanquisher cannon and las-cannon for it's tank killing
The T-100E and it looks fully equipped from the wargear sections of their motorpool.
[/img]

Now no discussion of Leman Russ Variants would be rightly complete without a Demolisher. The Khadrovian variant has double wide treads to help distribute the added weight of the up-gunned turret for the massive demolisher siege gun it carries. Though the reference pic is NOT a Khadrovian Demolisher, it does show the treads at the width the Khadrovians prefer for heavier variants or as the Khadrovians call it the T-100F

(I must say that I do like the "snowplow' style dozer blade in that image.

Next, the last design that can be seen in use by the Khadrovians of the Leman Russ Patterns is the Executioner, of the type that the khadrovians call the T-100G, again, my apologies for using referent pattern pics from Imperial sites of known IG regiments, but the Khadrovian security is rather difficult to get around.

Finally, I tracked down what appears to be an annihilator pattern turreted Leman Russ where the Battle cannon is mounted in the bow! the T-101 as it is known, for the variant is so divergent from standard patterning as to be worthy of a different designation.

This is what I have found thus far as the Khadrovians apparently went out and used these variants(mostly the venerable Phaeton pattern) to carve their own niche in the outer periphery of the Galaxy and this is just the tip oft the matter in regards to the tanks one can expect in the Shock Guard Armies of the Khadrovian Konfederacy Iron Guards. I do not have exact numbers, but it can be counted that they have enough of each to equip many companies of tanks across the area they claim control over and in their expedition forces.

End of part 1

what i like the most of this piece here is the point of view you used... it brings a fresh perspective to the subject!
if a khardovian officer would ahve talked about stuff like these then it would have come with lots of gibberish but this agent/spectator brought the info of these tanks with the eyes of perplexed witness!

very good! and i like how you used known pics of the standard GW tanks in comparrision with your tanks...

Part1: Ammendment.

Sirs, the situation as you can plainly see is that the possibility exists for the Khadrovians to land troops of the tanker variety on a planet and either steal PDF tanks to use in mayhem spreading to help soften a world o\up, or make use of the tanks in a campaign to repair or replace their own losses if they deem it necessary. I have some reports that has happened, and that they have also done so to some tank units of the enemy via protective clothing and gear to bring tanks to be re-consecrated, blessed, and cleansed so that they could be re-used, or if needs be scrapped for smelting down. If needed, our own forces could attempt the same clandestine approach to disrupt them, but as they have already pioneered such tricks, it may be a risky affair at best.

The Khadrovians have used their Lemans mainly the A models as they have the most varied battlefield use but I have seen documents showing how they had tested their not only their B and E models to good effect but their use of the D model to good use against the hated Orks. The E models fared well enough as is proven by our own Vanquishers as quite the tank killers.

As for the executioner, I do apologize for that pict not working out, but they have had some limited success against harder targets with that model, melting right through the unclean in their powered armored foes.

As for the anomalous T-101, I have an anecdotal reference to the field experiences of the particular beast and it seems that while it is a unique machine, the crews seem to not enjoy having so much space cramping from the breech of the battle cannon in the hull, especially the left sponson drivers who seem to have less room for themselves to get their jobs done.

Of their demolishers, they have employed these mobile monsters for the fights in city terrain supported by infantry, and there is a story about one particular machine having been immobilized, and then the enemy could only suppress it, or or did no further damage, wasting shot after shot at it. The Tank earned the nickname of "City Bell" due to the ringing the enemy shells made as they bounced off the heavy plate.

So, as you can see, these crews have plenty of combat experiences and have partaken in enough battles to have a chance to be a force to be reckoned with. This amendment will be followed by Part 2 in where I discuss the types and battles of their Superheavy tanks.

Part 1 end, Part 2 to follow.

My lords, I am able to get this new section of information as I have yet to be discovered by their version of the Inquisition in this "Konfederation" I have of course gathered the data I needed regarding what super-heavies that have been seen thus far and how they use them. The information I have gathered has shown me a highly organized and aggressive state here. Once they land forces upon a planet, the Khadrovian Army lands support for their attacks with the implementation of Super-heavy tanks. So far the only familiar model is their take on the well known Baneblade. The Khadrovians seem to label all tanks with the designate "T" before a numbers assignment. On this matter, I have included a pict of a standard Baneblade as they seem to have not deviated from the STC mnodel that the Imperial Guard uses. They label their model the T-500A2
this is merely for the pattern that they use, now place it in Khadrovian colors and you then get the idea. The Khadrovians must not have that many in their arsenal as we know they are difficult to make, and usually one is assigned to a super-heavy unit, of course not knowing yet as to how many super-heavy tank companies the Khadrovians field has not helped me ascertain their numbers yet.

Another rare beast in use is the oddest and looks as if the khadrovian sect of the Adeptus Mechanicus must have found an as yet undiscovered STC template that they designate the T-61A5C "Vasily" which is a monster of a tank hunter, the machine can boast a pair of void shields to make up for the low number of weapons, a nose mounted Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter or Heavy flamer, a pintle heavy stubber, and a pair of long barreled super vanquisher cannons. The idea is that each cannon, with the aid of advanced targetters and tracking systems can fire at separate targets, effectively killing two enemy tanks in one go, or, more chillingly, both cannon fired at the same target at the same time makes it a single shot weapon of massive destructive potential, able to cripple or fell titans! The vehicle has fought in engagements where it killed or crippled other superheavy tanks, or shattered an Eldar falcon.
T-61A5 in un-reported town moving to advanced firing position [/img]

One of the odder machines in the Khadrovian arsenal is the multi-turreted T-440 "Khadrova" Tank. There have been reports of this monster lending support as a nest of heavy stubbers and cannons as it rumbles forwards. It can be seen how it is a definite siege support and line breaker tank. equipped with trench rails, guns all over every angle, and a observation augury pod that extends and lowers to get better views of the battle field or look over ruins and terrain when it normally cannot see. The two rear turrets on the upper decks appear to also act as anti-air support. The T-440 is likely to stay in use with the Superheavy support companies for some time to come, and is an odder design due to the many curved surfaces it has. T-440 moving trhough a town hunting for enemy nests to route.
[/img]

Another unique machine for the big Khadrovian push and is a super-heavy vehicle that is set up like a tank as it moves a platoon of men protected in it's lower belly is the BMD-200 "Sea-Dragon" the name applies because the machine is at home on land or in water! Yes m'lords, this beast can traverse waterways as the smaller Chimera can. There have yet been seen such a massive troop movement, but these will certainly be there for such large advances in the future.
[/img]

Folding front assault ramp of the "Sea-Dragon"
[/img]

Another Super-Heavy used in the Khadrovian companies is the Valdor class tank hunter or as they like to dub it the SU-200A There is no knowing how many of these are being made or if they are remnants from arsenals past,. but the one pictured was getting a fresh coat of paint and camo when I spotted it, so it may have been fresh built the other day, or was merely being refurbished for further use.
[/img]

Another mention should be this odd design they call the SU-200B or Valdor - II which is a large machine as well, low slung for it's size and also armed with a variant of Neuton cannon both models have seen combat out there on the fringe
[/img]

[/img]

Another hard to kill machine is the T-400 "Perun" which also shows a line breaker kind of design principle, so this would also be either helping "storm the trenches" or as can be seen by the annihilator style main turret, killing tanks. The tank has seen battle lasting against the nefarious Eldar from last accounts, where the tank lasted until a council of jet-bike mounted seers used their witch-spears to kill the tank but only just enough, leaving it salvageable for later use! A truly tough tank to beat!
T-400 Perun on display. [/img]

Though the khadrovians have an odd pattern for their Malcador defenders, their T-280 "Defender" is showing the same basic layout of a demolisher cannon in the nose, sponson las-cannons, and five Heavy Bolters. This one has served with distinction, having killed different Necron Monoliths and other tanks in battle.
[/img]

[/img]

Another large tank used in the army of the Khadrovian Konfederacy is the T-300 "Bogatyr" This may be the tank that was the influence to make the smaller T-101, with the tank killing annihilator turret pattern and the bow mounted Battle Cannon. Using standardized parts, this superheavy is a fairly easy to buiuld machine and many of these as well as the T-400 are likely to see much action in years to come with the Khadrovian Iron Guards! I have not run across reports as yet as to any being in action, but I will make such as soon as I find it.
[/img]

[/img]

Another Big Tank unique to the Khadrovians is the T-290, a machine with two battlecannon turrets on it, and a noticeable high superstructure as if it were a sea going vessel on treads. This land going "drednaught" also mounts several Heavy Bolters, and a lascannon in the bow, and is built wider, longer, and taller than any Leman Russ, and will be easy to spot, but from battle reports, it is another hard to kill monster used by these collectivists. It has faced off against human tanks as well as alien ones, and rarely has one of these been destroyed.
[/img]

And finally, last but certainly not least amongst Khadrovian Super-heavy tanks is the T-350 "Tzar" tank. This three turret monster from a distance looks as if an ancient warship is trekking across the open plains. sporting 3 battle-cannon, and bristling with weapons, the T-350 has had some serious blooding in several battles where the forwards and center Battle cannons were out, but still the lascannon and rear turret fired on! The sheer firepower has been enough for some governors to call it quits, and if the T-350 or similar designs were amassed, there is no telling what carnage they could do to a Hive. Hence it has earned a reputation for staying true toi the mission and this one earned the nickname "True-blue-52"
[/img]

[/img]

I am of no doubt that the Khadrovians have the means to make these machines and maintain them in fighting trim, as well as the will to deploy and use these monsters of the battle-fields, One can only wonder at the devastation the Khadrovians can unleash with just these weapons alone, when mixed with other weapons like other tanks, and artillery and planes, it may seem like a flood of metal the likes of which can match or exceeed an Imperial commander's own wrath.

My Lords and any who are allowed access to these reports, I have thus far been able to avoid being detected in making these reports as I have been gathering data as best I can in these areas of the Fringe, the security of the Khadrovians is not impossible to infiltrate, but they do make it very difficult, even their trusted political and ,military officers have to present Identification at many intervals and are subject to searches and background checks!

Anyway, I have gotten the data regarding the Khadrovian drive to make vehicles that will help them achieve faster battle-field gains. It appears that they have worked on improved transmission systems for their vehicles along with high potency engines to make for a new class of tank that has a higher horse-power to tonnage ratio. While the leman Russ weighs sixty tons, it's speed is limited to it's track design and engine/transmission which has not changed radically over the centuries. It's use of say 10horse per ton is the situation making a slow and ponderous machine, the Khadrovians have achieved a ratio of approximately 28horses per ton, making this a leap in tank engine/transmission design!

The first tank to be made taking full advantage of this new mobility and also other new systems such as auguries and designators and a flexible cannon system is the T-104B "Sabre" or "Marshall Zhukov" tank. The bow sports a Heavy Bolter thus far, and could have different weapons in the future. The Turret mounts the main cannon, and also a slot for different systems, a command tank for instance might sport all electronics and detection tracking systems, the more common is the multi-purpose missile launcher which can be selected to fire either Krak anti-vehicle missiles, or Frag anti-personnel rounds. The Battle cannon, if against infantry can select to have High Explosive ordinance rounds. If the enemy is armored vehicle heavy, the T-104 will use the High Energy Penetration rounds. The chief advantage is that this machine can still move twice the speed of any Leman Russ and select to fire either the cannon, or the Missile system, both if it moves as slowly as the Leman Russ. This is their main tank of the future , and at 55-tons is a monster. The crew is a Driver, Bow gunner, Commander/radio operator. and a Gunner. Another internal feature is a servo arm that loads the ammo for the cannon at the press of a button. If they make enough of these, they can overwhelm a position before help can arrive from their opponents' main command. Another side effect of the design is that the turret of this tank may only reach the top of the tracks of the leman Russ, making this a low slung design layout that can take advantage of terrain better than the older design.
[/img]

[/img]

[/img]

A competing design to the T-104 is a slightly lower slung and smaller 40ton machine known as the MBT-90D "Mazurka" or "wild dancer" tank. This machine is able to either move swiftly like the T-104 across the battlefield, or wait in ambush with camo netting to improve it's chances to avoid being damaged or hit as it lies in ambush to use it's anti-tank cannon of the Vanquisher class. Like the T-104, this model has all of the same kinds of improvements, and has a bow mounted Heavy Bolter, he Turret is interesting as the Main cannon is slightly off center, allowing for the commander to come out of the turret at his cupola. the turret also houses a "pup-up" missile launcher system. Unlike the T-104 though, the MBT-90D has as yet to be battle tested. There is also talk of re-designating this model to the T-102 for ease of record keeping. Pictured on test exercises, the crew is Driver, Gunner, Commander/Radio and also uses an auto-loader servo arm.
[/img]

[/img]

[/img]

Another tank to be tested and also of a new class as it weighs in at a mere 15tons is the T-103 "Short-sword" a tank that is small, low and designed to move around to deliver a killing blow with it's small mini-vanquisher" main cannon. It like many smaller vehicles that will be featured later is employing a multi-role pod on the side of the turret that has sensors/auguries and a missile tube that can fire either Krak or Frag It also sports a bow mounted Heavy Bolter of a pattern not familiar. The tank also uses the servo auto-loader, but loads a "clip" of several rounds into the breech mechanism of the Vanquisher-cannon. The T-103 is crewed by a Driver/Heavy Bolter operator, Gunner, and Commander/radio-man.It is my speculation that this is also a supplemental machine, it can be deployed in a forwards recon/harassment role hunting enemy tanks then moving swiftly away using local terrain to stay out of sight until the next kill. I have even heard that it is also being selected for the more air mobile regiments as a "drop-tank" that can be deep-struck via grav-chutes and a pallette to land in support of the light special forces such as the Spetznats or other para-troops.
[/img]

[/img]

[/img]

So, between the Leman Russ/T-100 and their T-101 mixed with the T-103, T-104, and T-102 and the many Superheavies, the Tank arm of the Khadrovians seems well equipped and an overwhelming force. Between the lumbering monsters of the older machines and Supe-heavies, and the fast territory chewing "Speed-tanks" it seems that the Khadrovians are well suited for rapid conquests, but tanks alone do not take territory, they have to have men move swiftly with them now don't they? tanks need supporting troops to keep their softer flanks and rears from being attacked by enemy troops, and that will be the focus of the next part of my report sirs.

End Part 3

My Lords, having been free once again to gather the required information, I have found that the Khadrovians do indeed use the also well known Chimera class armored transport, and also manufacture them as they do the Leman Russ and as they call the Leman Russ the T-100, they do the same thing with the Chimera and call it the BMD-80 Making it as they do to deliver troops through mud, water, desert, and any terrain they encounter. It does follow the standard patter as seen here, the BMD-80A(mulitlaser/Heavy Bolter) and the BMD-80B(Heavy Bolter/Heavy Bolter), they also use the "C" model aka BMD-80C which is Atocannon equipped and there are some fitted with heavy flamers.

Here they are displayed as part of an armored platoon. Three BMD-80A's and a single BMD-80B(command sqd inside)
[/img]

[/img]

BMD-80C
[/img]

Now the Chimera may well be plentiful, and can eschew firing for speed, but the Khadrovian high command wanted something more speed worthy and still capable of firing as it sped along to support the new generation of faster tanks, this was something the BMD's did but they wanted something better at the task than the older design while still maintaining amphibious assault ability and flexibility for the Missions. That became known as the BMP project and resulted in the Similarly designated 35ton BMP-80 and the BMP-80A had some firsts, such as a servo turret armed with the multi-laser and heavy bolter, allowing both weapons 360 degrees of covering fire for the troops it carries. It also carries enough space for a dozen men and supplies, but usually carries 10men, and maybe a commissar and a priest. But the servo turret concept still did not work for the alternate weapons, while the Auto-cannon could be employed, the smaller turret was too cramped to reload it effectively, thus the Auto-cannon/Heavy-Bolter is mounted in the manned "Crossfire" model turret. This allows for the commander to also look outside and observe the country side from a cupola atop the turret, which has modernized targeting and surveying gear built in. Including the multi-purpose Missile launcher for a third weapon on a swivel mounted pod. Armor rating 12/11/10

BMP-80A of the Khadrovian Iron Guards' Shock Army, fresh from being primed and ready for a camouflage job and unit ID markings!
[/img]

Now we see it with unit markings and full camouflage
[/img]

Now equipped with the Auto-cannon/Heavy-Bolter "Crossfire" turret, making it a BMP-80B
[/img]

Now while this improvement over the Chimera pleased their high command, it was found to be a massive machine! the BMP-80 was wider and a little longer than the Chimera, even though faster and better equipped for 360 degree firing. The problem with the better armored and speedier yet machine was that it was so wide, so for more urban combat areas as well as fighting for the airborne units, and also to make sure there were more transports that could keep up, the newer IFV-103 was made. At a mere 20tons fully kitted and able to transport the bare needed 10man squad, and a servo turret atop and bow mounted heavy bolter, the AFV-103 was ready to tackle urban combat environments, and was made light enough to support the airborne units and their T-103 tanks. The Armor rating for this was back down to the 12/10/10 from the more massive BMP-80 models.

A pair of AFV-103's

Unpainted AFV-103 next to a Chimera for size comparison, much thinner for navigating village and town lanes as well thinned avenues in rubble strewn cities.
[/img]

How this was achieved: notice the tracks go under the infantry compartment seating areas as well as their firing ports? this allowed the AFV-103 to shave width for fighting in places the BMD/BMP's cannot go. the main hull is as wide as the one on the Chimera otherwise.
[/img]

The same hull length, and the similar sized passenger area, the crew of the AFV-103 sit center line as opposed to the side as the BMD/BMP does it.
[/img]

Height is not that dissimilar, but nothing Ogryn sized would feel comfortable in it.
[/img]

Ready for patrol duty, these AFV-103's are assigned to the 3rd company.
[/img]

Now the Khadrovians have some other vehicles that are anomalous to the Chimera, such as the BTR-90 8x8 armored carrier, designed as an earlier urban and cross country troop transport with much the same qualities as the Chimera, we can see how it shares components with the BMP-80 series as they were produced initially at the same time to take advantage of the surplus of the servo turrets. The BTR also get's around by using huge armor-like tires

BTR-90A's with plenty of road dirt on them after a patrol.
[/img]

BTR-90 showing off it's clean lines using a new process
[/img]

BTR-90's will likely serve units for some time to come.
[/img]

Now we come to the unusual piece of the report, a vehicle that is neither recon or scout vehicle not purely a transport, instead it is a mixture of both, carrying a maximum of six soldiers, or five and a commissar or priest, but not both. The BA-70 which carries sensors and augurs in a pod along with search light, and multi-purpose missile launcher, to the other side of the servo turret(controlled from inside the vehicle) is the Auto-cannon Using the same huge tires as the BTR-90 and a set of tracks, there is little that this machine cannot overcome terrain wise, with armor similar to that of the Chimera/Salamander it can hold out for some time, but relies on speed to carry it through the day on recon and harassment missions. These machines are usually sent to help support airborne units due to their lte weight, and also are a main transport for small Spetznats units sent to deal with pesky problems rapidly. There is also known a engineering/recovery version of this machine in service as well.

BA-70 ready for a wash!
[/img]

Marked for elite service duty, this one bears the skull in diamond marks for the elite Spetznats units.
[/img]

The rear ramp for when there is heavy fire, as many Spetzants tend to use the top hatches used for firing out of the vehicle as an exit instead since they are airborne and are used to starting a mission with an impact of their feet to the ground!
[/img]

So as you can see my lords, as this report clearly shows, the Khadrovians have also made gains in rapid troop delivery systems for their armies with two tank hulled and two different vehicles as well as the Chimera, This allows them an incredible amount of flexibility for deploying units using armored protection mated with fire-power to get troops to objectives and seize them and hold them until the battle is over, or they get more such vehicles with men in them to the spot to re-inforce it! This shows that the Khadrovians are users of the concept of Lightning offensives, usually not as seen in rare exceptions in our own IG units. With entire regiments equipped like this, how can an opponent stand against them?

End part 4, Part five will include artillery

i like where you hinted on the assembly line production... frist non painted then camo... nice touch there......

tho in direct comparrision i think your BTR´s are a tad small for to fit a 10 men team inside...but if oponents doesn´t object against it... then all is good^^

I never said it was a comfy fit. But shaved a bit off from Chimnera standards

right... also you did leave a small comment for them not being ogryn sized...so fair is fair... and since they are most likely to get killed in action anyways being small punny humans...where would be the point of a comfy ride^^

As comfy as it gets inside a Kadrovian transport.

lot of hunching and ducking for these machines to get
inside of them!

Oooh! inside a new vehicle design, seems roomier despite being thin,

with ramp down

The outside, I can get something similar from OC as he has a armored truck like this

Yeah, looks like new modular design to have a truck with many different functions based on needs.

As my old Drill Sgt said, "move on in and make your buddy smile" always had an evil grin on when he said that as well. Remeber, the models made of hard plastic are not as soft and flexible as a man they are representing, so yeah, cramped interiors as well in the Chimera.

move on in and make your buddy smile
exactly my point^^

and the truck sure looks like it would be a nice addition to your forces... tho i think it would serve better as a light command or strategic HQ...

Oh I plan on the getting of them when the time is right, but with a move anticipated, it is best to be settled into the new address first.

Hmmm, well, that would be one dfull of antennae and such!
