Thats all I could find but rather more then I expected. So either way I hope some of you find this useful.
I'm digging the Red Templar theme and what very little information there is on them for my next army.

any added information would be nice.

Will be updating as I read the posts and look into some more background

Add to that list the Executioners (see Imperial Armour X), but remove the Red and White Templars, as the wikis are full of crap, and neither (unless I have missed something) have ever been suggested officially to be Black Templar successors.

Soul Drinkers aren't supposed to be Imperial Fists anymore either.

Chapters who take place in the Feast of Blades might possibly be Imperial Fists successors, as the Imperial Fists apparently were the creators of the tournament.

The Excoriators are a descendant of The Imperial Fists according to the Legion of the Damned novel and the Iron Knights are also confirmed in the Space Marine codex.

Red Templars Are succesors to Black Templars so in a way they are Imperial Fist sucessors

Soul drinkers still see themselves as loyal to imperium even if thier chapter master is now a spider mutant They are still a succesor traitor or not.

Assassin is saying, and I agree, that without citation you can't assume that because they share the same name they are successors to the Fists.

Phalanx apparently has debunked the whole Soul Drinkers and Imperial Fists connection.

Hmm odd says that Red Templars are sucessor of Black Templars in 40K wiki But lists in Lexicanum as Rumoured sucessor of Black Templar so I guess we can't confirm they are sucessors of Black Templars.

It seems odd they would debunk Soul Drinkers from Imperial Fist as they have a whole back story of trying to retrieve the Soul spear (Dorns weapon) which in turn lead them to being cast as traitors

Unless I have missed something, that's not even an in-universe rumour, it's just unsourced fan speculation (like much of WH40K Wiki's content).

Gathering the Informations.

WH40k Wiki is about as accurate as the doomsayers on the street are.

They do no real "factchecking" and just let it sit. Lexicanum is a bit better, but more often than not it has issues as well (one entry for I think the Raven Guard mentions the details being in the Badab War IA books--but Raven Guard aren't mentioned at all within those).

Lexicanum Actually more crediable then 40K wiki

The upcoming Legion of the Damned book seems to have a lot of this mentioned in it.

It is, but as Kan says it's also full of errors and not all the citations can be trusted.

And yet, unless somebody can cite the rumour in-universe, it is still, in this instance, inaccurate.

Soul drinkers as I know them are extinct, but in a final act of sacrifice was redeemed when they closed a daemon portal on the space fortress Phalanx of the imperial fist. None of the Soul drinkers survived.

Spoilers dear boy, spoilers

I apologies as I am guilty of this too, but I haven't given the whole ending away

Think the Red Templars are in the SM codex, making them official.
Tough only in color scheme and name. Gonna have to find a SM codex hehe.

That they canonically exist is not being questioned (one is indeed pictured in Codex: Space Marines), what is, is whether any suggestion exists in canon that they are a Black Templar successor Chapter. (And indeed all that rubbish about specially-designed bikes.). Fan speculation based on their name (as distinct from attested in-universe speculation/rumour) is not encyclopedic content, and should not be in the wiki.

Akka, don't worry about dropping spoilers for the Soul Drinker books. If your info keeps anyone from reading them, you've only done them a favor!

On the real side of things though, if someone could drop a spoiler, does that book series go on to say the Soul Drinkers are not Fist successors?
