So my buddy and I were playing a game last night and dawn of war deployment happened. Now nothing was changed for us because i wasnt using spods, but i have a list that is spod heavy, all my troops are in spods, my heavy deep strikes or is in spods...
so what happens in dawn of war, when my compulsory troop choices and.. well all troop choices are in spods and MUST deploy the 1 hq and 2 troops minimum?

You do not have to deploy anything in Dawn of War. The rules state you can deploy up to one HQ and up to two troop units. You can keep everything in reserve. In the case of having all Drop pods or Spore Pods, you MUST keep everything in reserve. and drop onto the table as normal.

In DoW you CAN deploy up to 1 HQ and 2 Troops. It is however not mandatory.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Ahh ok well tyvm settles that well. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also if anyone knows or is still looking at this... ok so i can put EVERYTHING in reserves.... doesnt that mean i lost? nothing left on the table... means.... loss?
Or what if i have stuff on the table and stuff in reserves and my table models are all killed... dont my reserves just die and its counted as a loss?

No. You don't lose for having nothing left on the table unless it's the end of the game.

Awesome. so then a complete infiltrate, deep strike, reserves list is rather viable.

Infiltrating units still count towards the 1 hq and 2 troop for Dawn of War though (you are, after all, deploying them).
Those kinds of lists are viable, some armies even have to reserve everything.
