Dayyum, that kicks incredible amounts of ass. Are those Forgeworld or 3rd party kits? I'm curious as I might get a trio of Basilisks for my Guard.

Nothing says IG like manned artillery. That's so cool.

They are based on Marx toy recasts of the German 88.

$6 each, plus some 40k bits .At 75 points each, you can have three of these for the cost of two Basilisks, and have enough points left to buy a bare bones Russ.

Very inventive use of toys, and the use of those gun barrels from the Leman Russ (or Baneblade, can't recall) kit is pretty genius. Your painting is quite good too, and the converted crew have a lot of character! Great work!

Those spent cannon rounds look like .22 rimfire casings. Are they plastic casts, the real deal, or just happen to look like 'em?

Awesome! I love the muzzle breaks you took from the Russ kit. They really give them a more howitzer/artillery feel.

Top notch conversions, the camo is great, and nothing screams 40k like a 18 stone man manhandling a half ton shell into a breech!

Yep. Shot from my Ruger .22 MKII pistol. I painted them Brazen Brass to match the plastic Baneblade shell bits on the IG loaders.

Well, it definitely works. Only criticism I have is that I would try to put some burn markings around the open end of the casing, but other than that, they look outstanding.

Too True! That would seem more in common with Ork artillery!

Funny thing, my dad's friend as a teen and he were at a range for ROTC, and the friend had rimfire shells in his pocket. He sat down, and 3 went off, thankfully in an outward direction downrange. I could just imagine the reaction!
