It was my understanding that walkers can no longer pivot while immobilised, since there's no reason why they'd be able to. But my opponent (something of a WAAC) insisted that they can.
The rules seem pretty clear to me (immobilised=cannot pivot) but I want to make sure.

Ever thought 40k would be a lot better with bears?

I'm pretty sure it is stated in the rulebook under the vehicle or damage chart rules that a vehicle, including a walker, can't pivot if it's immobilized.

No, they can't pivot.

They are stuck with the arc for their guns that they have when their legs were blown off.
