Here is my first attempt to make a 150 point Ariadna list. The idea is to create a list that more or less balances the various nationalities that are in Ariadna and which models that I like. I am reading up on the rules and starting to collect the models. I have the foxtrot figure and hope to start getting some of the other soon. Please feel free to give advice. When I expand this I know I want the autocannon, the 112 service, a scout, the 13mem, minute men, more par commandos, grey rifles, and the SAS.

For every 50pt, you're allowed 1SWC.

A 150pt list would have a maximum of 3SWC. You're running 4.5. That's rather over.

Additionally, running your Lieutenant as an AD Troop is really questionable. If your Lt isn't on the board and waiting to be dropped in, you're at the Loss-of-Lieutenant.
Essentially, you have to either start the game with your Lt off-board and start with Loss-of-Lieutenant, or you deploy with your Lt on-board and waste its AD potential.

So, why do they have an Lieutenant with AD/Combat Drop skills?

I've always wondered about that...

Sometimes, people really want to run a full AD-Drop team. It's just awesome like that.
EDIT: When I say 'awesome', I mean in terms of just coolness. Never really tried it myself. However, there has got to be a few people out there wishing they could have full AD teams or full Camo teams.

Also, sometimes First-turn LoL isn't a horrid problem. You essentially end up losing your first turn reassigning your Lt.
It's just not advisable unless you really know what you're doing, and even then it's questionable.

@Ablsolutions, thanks for the help, I have created a new list that is more basic now and is with in the SWC limits. Once I get the hang of this army I figure I can get more fancy.

I don't know enough to really help but the 8 points you have left can get you another miniature on the table. May as well use the points.

When I try to add another volunteer it tells me that the AVA for the Ariadna Militia is set at 2. So I am guessing I can only have 2 volunteers and or metros? Or I am missing something.

Ah, that's interesting. I didn't realize this because I'm not an Ariadna player, so I never make Ariadna lists.

Check the rulebook or pdf of the army listing. It list all Ariadna Militia (Caledonia Volunteers or Metros) as AVA2. So it seems you can only take 2 total out of the Metros or Volunteers. Of course, the Sectorial lists don't have this limitation.

Feel free to drop either the Metro or the Volunteer. They seem to be shoehorned in anyways. Take a Line Kazak Paramedic.
The Paramedic will help your downed units (especially that Vet Kazak that seems to be your star player)
The Line Kazak status will help hide your lieutenant better
The better BS will let you shoot better.

Otherwise, it looks fine.
Then again, I'm no Ariadna player.

While this is right in this case.

If he took Van Zant as a Lt, he can start off the board and AD turn one, and get all his order and auto-fix LoL. Other nice thing about him is +1 SWC, so at 150pts you can have 4 SWC. He can also jump into the enemy depolyment zone, and let other AD troop jump into same zone he did on that turn.

Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

Pardon the tons of edits, I misunderstood your original post.

A Van Zant is 42pt. In a 150pt list, that is a significant chunk of your list to only take a guy with an AP Rifle and Shotgun (even if he is good at it). You have 108pt left to spend on 4SWC, and you'll have to invest in rather elite-ish units. You'll be starved for orders.

As for AD-Lt, you could also spend your first turn reassigning your Lt. Either way, you really are losing your first turn. Plus, if you start off in LoL, spend orders on an AD, and suddenly you're no longer LoL next turn, your opponent will know who your Lt is. Not a huge disadvantage, but it's still advertising who your Lt is.

Either way, it's his list. As everyone says, it's not the list that matters most, it's the player. It's awesome to just try new units.
Personally, the +1 SWC would be best used in higher pt games.

Tactical Jump end LoL right when he hits the feild. So you start your turn with 2 Orders, Jump Van Zant in, now you have all your order for turn 1.

Your right that at 150, he point heavy. I was mostly pointing out that, in Van Zant's case starting off the table dosen't have any real downside.

You guys lost me after this reply. I'm such a noob!
In reply to this: You are correct, i noticed you'd filled that requirement but you should be able to fit in a 42nd Highlander at... 6 points i think.

Thanks for the help so far guys, I do have a Van Zant model, but I will wait until I have a couple of games under my belt before I worry about dynamic entries.
Meanwhile here the list again, which I have played around with.
