I'm thinking of investing in an airbrush over the coming weeks but not sure if it is practical to use in my house.

I have seen that you can get vented spray booths which may be a necessary purchase/build. As you are essentially atomizing the paint, is this enough?

What sort of workspace do all you airbrushers use?

Honestly...(holds head in shame) A card board box with a light and white paper. i get very little overspray with my little iwata and am not doing so much painting to need a vented booth. Never mind the fact that i am not using enamel paints through my brush. Only acrylics for this gamer, so fumes are not a huge issue either. All in all I am satisfied with my cheap skate paintbooth and just wish i had more time to paint in it.
-hope that helps

You just need a respirator to protect your lungs (around £20). Atomised acrylics are not good to breathe, airbrush cleaner is also bad.

I dont even bother with a box, i just airbrush over a sheet of paper and it catches any small amount of over spray

Bathroom ducting fan - $15 USD

Cardboard Box of appropriate size

Duct Tape

Dryer Ducting (silver, flexible tube kind of appropriate length)

That's what I do... I duct it all outside. I'm only using acylics, so no need to worry about fire

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?
