I've recently come back to my necrons having been distracted by my orks, main attraction for coming back was my display cabinet collapsing and crushing most of what I had previously between two rather weighty glass panels.

I do however have a short attention span for painting and thus didnt want to form a list of many many models especially at this low level, and have been trying to work a list around including a c'tan (I wanted 2, settled for one)

I currently have the 2 immortal squads, both destroyers and destroyer lord, and the c'tan is on order. However the rest is all planned purchase and thus changable (I like to plan before I buy)

The list currently stands as follows:

Destroyer Overlord
Warscythe, Semptineral Weave

Triarch Stalker -
Heatray

Triarch Stalker -
Particle Shredder

C'tan -
Transdimensional Thunderbolt
Pyreshards

Immortals -
7 x Tesla

Immortals -
7 x Tesla

Destroyers -
2 x Gauss Cannon

Which squares out about 1000, the Destroyers will be joined up with the lord to shoot and then defend if he eventually hits CC.
Immortals/Shredder walker make up anti-horde fire.
C'tan, Lord and Heatray Walker make up anti tank
C'tan, lord and Heatray can also make up anti-elite fire.

My main concerns are the small size of the list, which while my intention could prove my undoing.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Hmmm... I dont see what the structure of this list is going to do for you, I mean, standard Destroyers? Really? you could be spending those 80 points a bit more wisely IMO.

I ran a 1000 point list for the 25th anniversary today and it faired me well, I used:

Overlord
Warscythe, CCB

Overlord
Warscythe

HoD
Solar Pulse

HoD
Solar pulse

10 Immortals (Tesla)

10 Immortals (Tesla)

6 Scarab bases

Annihilation Barge (Gauss)

Annihilation Barge (Gauss)

5 Deathmarks

Small but organised and structured, with inter-changeable units, lots of firepower, anti tank and infantry plus it gives you a lot of strength 5 and higher shooting, with so many saves to make, your opponent will eventually break and his army should slowly but surely wither down (Depending on opponent of course)

Hope that helps at all!

Calv,

Thanks for the help IXBEHEMOTHXI, issue I'm having right now is budget aswell as the idea that I want to incorporate a C'tan into my list. I really wanted to use the models I already have in the list and use the money I have to expand that out into 1000 points (this is the reason destroyers feature in the list).

Realistically I had hoped to use the Immortals, Lord, Destroyers and C'tan as a base and then find -something- to balance them out and make it functional (perhaps not uber competitive but workable) at 1000 points).

Soon his foes would learn that the only thing more dangerous than a savage three hundred pound brute is a savage three hundred pound brute with a plan - Ork Codex
