Hey guys. Sorry if i make mistakes here on the forums im just new =p.
Any ways... I had some questions regarding tau in the codex and unit assembly.

1. Are the FW in the team with markerlights shas'uis already?
I needed quite a bit of clarification here because it states in the codex "A shas'ui team leader may also purchase markerlights" so does this mean that the shas'ui carries them or he can pick anyone from the team?

2. Do the models that have e.g. markerlights/grenades in one hand and have a pulse carbine/rifle cannot shoot?
Well that sounded wrong so im asking do the models with like a grenade emp/photon in one hand while the gun in the other shoot?(Sorry coudn't realy explain hope you guys understand)

3. A gun drone squad of 6 a squad on its own?

Well I have a FW squad and A BF on the way so that makes 2 firwarriors=4 gun drones and a xv8 battlesuit = 2 more drones. So could I like make a squad of just 6 gundrones and move them/shoot with them on their own?(Im planning on converting the battlesuit into an HQ choice)

4.What parts do the xv8 battlesuit in the battle force come with eg. multitracker fusion blaster

5. What parts do you recommend for converting the battlesuit to an HQ from the battleforce?

Welcome to the Greater Good, I'll try to help as much as I can

1) A Shas'Ui is basically your Fire Warrior squads captain, its an upgrade. The Shas'Ui is the only one who can carry the markerlight.

2) The Markerlight is a shooting weapon, you can only fire with one per turn

3) A gun drone squad is a fast attack choice in the codex, you can field them on their own.

4) The battleforce has all of the options available for every unit in them, so you'll have one of each of the standard Battlesuit weapons. You won't have any of the Commander only options

5) you can run it as a commander right out of the box. I use mine as a Deathrain suit, thats 2 missile pods and a targeting array, but it all depends on how you want to use it

I'd recommend you go check out Advanced Tau Tactica or the articles here on Dakka, there is a ton of good information out there on how to build a fun Tau army

Hey,

1) You have to pay for the Shas'ui upgrade then pay for the markerlight.

2) If they have a gun on the model (and in the rules) they can shoot. If you have a choice of weaponry you pick one and shoot that one. (grenades not counted)

3) yeah any number of drones that it says in the codex under Fast Attack.

4) Most things. Tbh i dont actually know what half of the extra parts are, and I dont think anyone at my gaming club do either. Most of the guns are in there though, may be a few you dont get though... never had problems with it.

5) You need extra parts? Imo i just used him as a hq straight out the box. When I get round to painting, it will become clear, but until then he has a cool pose.

Number four is a bit vague but only because I always model my suits with the weapons I know im going to use, and that aint a wide variety!
