Just curious, any suggestions on how one might create a flight stand type of deal for a Thunderhawk Gunship?

When i saw a metal one at gw at a gamesday they had made one out of the arm of a record player, big metal thing. These days if you are making the resin one I bet the valk stand could do it it you used 2.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Was hoping to get something that is around the 1 foot range for Apocalypse height, kind of hard to move a THawk if it is on the same height as all of the Valkyries and all of the tall terrain =P

That seems to be the thing I am finding most people are doing, the issue is the base portion.

Go to your local crafts store, and try the woodcrafts section. They usually have these large, ovoid wooden wallplaques that you often see tropies of awards made out of. Drill out a hole the same diameter as your post, and you got yourself a base!

Anyone think the 12 inch stand with the 8 in bases here:

would effectively support the Thunderhawk on a table?

I don't think 8" is big enough. It'd be extremely easy to knock over. The Thunderhawk is very heavy and very large. You either need a very heavy base, or a very large one.

When I made the base for my revenant I used what had previously been an ash tray. However it's made out of marble or granite or something else equally as dense and it works really well. If you can find something like that and you know somebody with a masonry drill (or drill bit) that's possible.

Mine has an MDF board of around 12"x 10" with 3 x 50mm rods that fit into where the under carriage would go.

Here is a few quick snaps of it. No where near finished
