Hi All,

I came across a pair of what I think are two epic figs.... but I have no clue of what their names are.

Any ideas?

Hi

The top picture is of the Ordinatus Armageddon - basically a land based Nova cannon.

The lower one is the Ordinatus Golgotha, massed Vortex missiles.

Great find on these very rare models.

Note there is a third vehicle in the group Ordinatus Mars, which is a large sonic cannon

Thanks much... I showed them to friends and the only reaction I got was "yeah.. i remember those.... thats a..... ummm.... its cool."

I'll have to dig around that big box of epic grab bag I came across... perhaps I have the third in there too.

I was at an auction and got 5 boxes of epic stuff that you couldn't look in (was sealed), and since my friends had started playing epic again, I bought it to form up an army.

I think I am going to have to trade parts off for other stuff, but I think I got a good deal on the pure amount of stuff I got.

Honestly, I am green with envy right now, great find. Any chance you could post up the rest of what you got and if you are ok with it mabye what the winning bid was.

Sure if you truely wish it...

Although I am going to have to get the pics together... I have pics of most of the stuff... just not the last two boxes.

I was quite pleased with the results of the find even before I found those two guys. While most of it was space marines, and some imperial guard; I got a tremendous amount of stuff.

That is awsome. I had a nice cache of Epic stuff, but it got stolen years ago. It's by far GW's best game imho.

Good find, it's good to hear about this stuff. =o]

It does look like you are missing some of the missles though. It's easy enough to scratch build some though or just use it like it is.

I started posting the pictures in my gallery. Theres way too many to try and post them in a thread.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-50548-21567_Epic%2040k.html

Now for the final numbers.
The models are in a various assorted paint/unpainted condition. Some are pewter some are plastic.
Most are older figs.

This is a list of known minis (ones that I knew) And I still have 2 boxes to go through.
And I don't know orc epic stuff at all, but there is a whole mess of it in there too.

208 Space Marine Stands
27 Assault Marine Stands
10 Terminator Stands
128 Rhinos
32 Land Raiders
22 Predators
13 Vanquishers
28 Whirlwinds
3 Thunderhawks
15 Razorbacks
5 Speeder bikes
35 Robots (each based on a penny, I made back 35 cents right here!)
5 Deathstrike Missles Launchers
3 Hellhounds
3 Griffons
9 Leman Russ
6 Basalisks
4 Baneblades (2 are missing main turrets)
36 Imperial Guard Infantry stands.
53 Devastator Squads
10 Land Speeders
2 Warhound titans
3 Reaver Titans
1 Bag of Titan weapons
1 Ordinatus Armageddon
1 Ordinatus Golgatha
2 big bags o' Orc epic

The winning bid (mine) was $142. Like I said, I was pretty happy with the amount of stuff I got.

Ahh, that pic does look more impressive. I'll see what I can do to see if I can find the other missle pods in my boxes of bits. Otherwise I think some could be made from bamboo skewers and some patience.

If I was jealous before and you still have bags of orky goodness.....ahhh....and arghhh again

Being picky, what you labelled as Griffons look to be Bombards, the heavy siege gun in the artillery company.

The Vanquishers are actually Vindicators - the vanquisher is a Leman Russ variant with an extra long main gun.

Bah!!!

I think your right... I get those Vindis and Vanqs mixed up since they sound too close together.

As for the griffon/bombard/whatever... who cares no one uses those anyway in my group

That is a awsome haul good find. Thanks for posting. =o]

That reaver marked #2 is a warlord. =o]

Nice mix of stuff old and new. I love the old 'boxcar' Thunderhawks, but the new ones do look epic.

Ok Ok ok... I never said my personal identification ability of Epic figs was perfect j/k

Thanks, I personally used to only play Imp Guard and only knew the figs I used. I never bothered with titans, I saw too many of them get popped by shadowswords to want to use them myself. They seemed like a point drain.

so I know this is a thread jack of sorts, but I have an entire Epic 40K starter box I bought WAY back in the day (as in when it was new in '95) that is mostly complete and most of the sprue's are intact.

anyone have any intrest in this? my friends and I have no intrest really (well I just like the mini's)

I had a rather large SM and Guard army, SM battle company's or tac company's with IG tanks and armour and Titans. A nice combined arms approach I rather liked. Especially when I was cheating and putting wreckers on warhound's.

The group I play against only the eldar player uses titans and so far in every game it has gone away in the first or second turn no matter who he plays against. Perhaps thats why I have such a bad opinion of titans.

I run straight guard, I know mixing SM infantry and Guard armor is an awesome combo, I just don't feel as though I should taint my guard that way

I usually play the sit back and wait game and then pounce with valks and stormtroopers. Arty sofens them up, heavy weapon teams, armor and super heavies keep them at bay. Its not the most clever of tactics, but in my small group is seems to work well. I will from time to time use an almost all mechanized infantry army and see what kind of trouble I can get into with them.

Usually it means a LOT of dead infantry stands

Eldar Titans are not as durable as Imperial ones or Orky Gargants. Great Gargants where a huge pain in the ass for me personally. Thats what I like about epic combined arms approach work just like real life. Imperial titans are ALOT tougher then Eldar ones, plus you must be rolling rather well last time I remembered Eldar titans where a pain to even hit.

Thanks for the pics and telling us about your army, I hope your find the rest of the bits for the missile's.

This is the buy it now price which isn't very representative. The last ones went away for 30-32 GBP.

Still, the boxes are a bargain.

Personally I don;t think I'll be selling them, at least not anytime soon. Although I might end up trading them if I got an offer I liked for them.

Still it is nice to find that I got good value in those boxes. It will be nicer if I can find the rest of those missle bits
