I don't mean to get anyones hopes up but a guy in games workshop dropped me a hint
that with the release of the hobbit film games workshop will release plastic kits for hobbits.
I don't know if anyone else has had this happen, it may just be he is pulling my leg.
At any rate I'm sure all will be revealed nearer the time.

3 hobbit movies! Looks like Peter Jackson did a George Lucas.

That makes perfect sense as a tie-in, I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Bit of a quandry then.)

1. If true. He just got fired. Is anyone dumb enough to get fired over hobbits worth believing?

2. If false he keeps his job.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

The book that is, not the film.

God I hope that was sarcasm, but really these days you just can't be certain.

I'd like to get my hopes up. But the idea of paying, what, $22 for 10 plastic hobbits?- just won't make it happen.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

If this is true then I would actually start playing LOTR. I've got a few units built that have never seen the light of day, but a hobbit army would get me into the game.

Were you actually flipping through the books, or scanning through the movies?

Movies have chapters, too. Look at any scene selection.

Plastic hobbits makes sense as the movie is set to come out soon. GW made a boatload of cash on the last LOTR movies so why not prep ahead of time now?

I don't know if this would really qualify as a rumor, though. We all know they renewed their license with New Line so it's pretty much inevitable.

Err.. BookS? there's only one The Hobbit book. And sure enough. In the Hobbit, there's no hobbit militia.

However, if you flipped through bookS (plural), then I guess you mean the LOTR books, in which there IS a hobbit militia. Sooo, I'm guessing you haven't actually read any of them.

Just a reminder that the Hobbit militia had a special rulebook which is now OOP.

Deals with this episode from the LOTR books:
Spoiler:
Saruman makes his final appearance at the end of the last volume, The Return of the King (1955), after Sauron's defeat. After persuading the Ents to release him from Orthanc, he travels north on foot, apparently reduced to begging. He is accompanied by his servant Gríma Wormtongue, whom he beats and curses. When they reach the Shire, Saruman's agents — both Hobbits and Men — have already taken it over and started a destructive process of modernization. Saruman governs the Shire in secret under the name of Sharkey until the events of chapter 8 (The Scouring of the Shire) in which Frodo and his companions return and lead a rebellion, defeating the intruders and exposing Saruman's role. He is then set free, even after attempting to kill Frodo, but is murdered by Wormtongue after again kicking and abusing him.
