Wolf lord - 275 pts (Saga of bear/F.blade/Runic armor/ T. Mount/ Storm shield) w/2 wolves
Wolf lord - 275pts (warrior/ F. Axe/runic/ Storm shield/T. Mount) w/ 2 wolves

5x GH 1 flamer 75 pts
5 x GH 1 flamer 75 pts

T cav x 5 - 375s pts (ss/F.wep, SS , SS / melta, melta , naked)
T cav x 5 - 375 pts
Fen Wolves x 13 w/ 1 cyberwolf = 120pts

Long Fangs x 6 ( 5 missiles) 140pts
Long fangs x 6
1850pts

The only reason I have picked up the GHs is so that I have a better chance to win a game because I have 2 units that can capture objectives. So this is a semi-competitive list that does surprisingly well so far... 2-0 as of now. I feel like the worst list it could go against would be GK, but isnt that the trend for any list lol Let me know what you think for this tournament *fun* list.

I thought the rules were more for putting up the cost of each upgrade rather then each unit.

Your list has a few weaknesses, you have nothing that can tackle a dread or anything that has an av greater then 10. Frost blades are not great as a wolf claw can has a statistical advantage over the blade in almost every scenario, the mathhammer shows that wolf claws are better for taking on units with Toughness 3-6 & 8 and the wolf claw is better at taking on vehicles with rear armour 10. I would think about a few thunder hammers for your TWC as they need a hard hitting model to take on armour or MC's.

If you stick a hammer on the wolf lord with saga of the bear he can survive to hit harder and hit second ensuring that two wound models with T 4&5 will be dead, good for the old grey knights. The other lord can stand in the same squad and sweep the road clear as he'll be hitting at I5 with re-rolls and all the extra attacks he can muster.

It may also be an idea to still a wolf tail talisman on one or both of the wolf lords to reduce the threat of psycic attacks, the runic armour only protects the lords from direct wounds while the talisman can stop effect based psycic powers.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

I don't play as space wolves regularly but I have played against them for 4 - 5 years.

Your thundercav probably don't need to be 5 strong. You can drop 1 or 2 so you can get more troops. In an objective game you're going to have a hard time capturing many objectives. I would buy razorbacks for them to get some more AT in the list too.

My brother is the one I play space wolves against most and one of the toughest units to bring down is:

Wolf lord
Thundwolf, Saga of the Bear, Thunderhammer, Stormshield

The thunderhammer lets that crazy beast bring down anything. It and his 3 man thundercav squad has brought down a trygon prime in one assault phase.

So all in all drop some thunder cav to get more troops and consider putting saga of the bear on both wolf lords and giving one a thunder hammer.

So I changed up the list a little...

Got rid of the small pups unit and on the lords. Gave both lords hammers, wolf tail, gave both T.cav claws instead of F. blades and then gave both GH units a psyback with TLas. Does that seem a little better for a "competitive" sense. I also like the extra T. Cav because they do so much damage!!! The only issue is it is very much a -small- list with not many models but it will hit extremely hard! I ran this list +a rune priest and another long fangs unit at 2k (- 1 t.cav from each squad), it was so good! He only had brother corbilu (?) and one regular BA marine left on the table! I got to turn one assault his speed bikes and wipe them without taking a wound .

If 4 T. cav did the job then why go to 5? Even 3 will kick ass. In 5th edition its not always good to have a unit that will wipe out a squad in one phase. Finishing the assault on the opponents turn is better.

Helvost has a point. I often try to ensure my thunderwolf lord is going to kill just enough to ensure that the enemy will still be there to kill in their turn since it's one less turn of shooting and after an assault you can usually be stuck in the open.

As everyone's been hinting, you got too many points dumped in your TWC and you are bringing far more than you need. 2 units is a lot, but making them more than 2-3 strong is just overkill. And overkill is bad. It means you are spending too many points in one area.

I'd drop the Storm Shield and Meltabomb and the Meltabomb carrying TWC from each unit at the very least. That frees up 280 points total. Given your lack of scoring units, investing these points into more Grey Hunters would serve you far better.

I'd even consider dropping the Storm Shield toting TWC from each unit and just have two units of two, each led by a Wolf Lord. You'll have the points to take more troops and put them in transports, and you can use the transports to shield your TWC from enemy shooting.

At 1850, 10 scoring models is nothing. Especially since they don't have any transport. Your Grey Hunters on foot shouldn't number less than 8 models. Either put them in Razorbacks or bump them to 7 or 8 and put them in Rhinos.
