So I'm shopping around for 6 dreadnought autocannons, 3 right arm, and 3 left arm. Forgeworld has em, but I think $11 per arm is too much. Im considering just scratch building them. So before I go to all the trouble of buying a hydra or two, I thought I'd consult the wise and powerful dakka. Anyone know where I can get these things for less than $66?

Not actually cheaper, sad to say, but each box comes with 2 TL autocannons. Mounted to the side of a Dread they look really cool and you get a ton of short terrain walls essencially for the 9 bucks extra it'll cost for 3 boxes of them.
Had to look these up when I considered making a rifleman dread as well.

When looking at bits like this, if you have the capacity to build your own, it's almost always cheaper to go that route.

@otakutaylor: Hey those are pretty cool, and I could use some terrain features like that. I'm curious to see what they actually look like on a dread though. Know where I can find a pic?

I think this is the best thing out there. The guns are already mounted into perfect dreadnought arms. Arm a dread, or put the whole thing on a Chimera to build a Hydra

Great link thanks. Didnt knew this.
But I think 2x3 of these from there for 2x9$ are even better for Dreads:

I like these ones. VERY cheap.
Anvil Industry Twin machine guns
Also as it is resin, you just need to cut the ammo box off and glue it to the other side to make left/right mounts.

They look rather small. More like machine guns not cannons.

I used the aegis defence lines autocannons and they look fairly good but the best is:
http://puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=55
That's 60 Dollars for 3 sets of 2 and they look great. if I'd have known about these when I put my Dreadnoughts together, I wouldn't have gone for the Aegis defence lines.

Instead of 15 Pounds for Forgeworld ones, you get them for 12 Pounds and you have really strange arms on them.

I like the arms myself. In all honesty, there's no way to get the autocannon dreads equipped for what I would consider to be a reasonable price but the puppetswar ones are, in my opinion, the best looking and are priced pretty well compared to the alternatives.

this is what I use.... id rather pay a few extra bucks vs. having to convert up my own, in the end lazyness always beats out cost savings for me

Just find your IG playing friend and ask him for some HWT autocannons. That is basically what the Aegis guns are anyway.
