Alright so this is going to be the blog chronicling the ever so slow expansion of my homebrew space marine chapter the brotherhood of lost angels, you see above the first two painted models of the chapter, a member of third company tactical 'red squad' and a member of the 9th company devestators elite squad 'the vermicious knids'

as a first post here's some basic background info of my army, feel free to poke as many holes in it as you want I will fill them all with as much duct tape as possible.

So the basic concept is a loyalist traitor chapter, a chapter that beleives the emperor is dead and refuses to worship him, but still attempts to protect humanity and push them towards being the ascendant race in the galaxy. They were formed from scattered remnants of multiple chapters collected from damaged ships during the horus heresy, so they don't have any one particular Primarch or loyalty.

I plan to use multiple codexs to run this army in games, using different builds from each list, including the chaos book, not likely the current one but more likely the new one whenever it comes it. But not Grey Knights!

So my first question to everyone out there is what codex should I use first to build lists for this army? I don't own any that I would use for it yet, so make sure to include age in any suggestion because I want to make the most of my buck, in terms of longevity and such.

Well Chaos Space Marines are rumored to have a new codex coming out, so I would stay away from that one until it comes out.
