Not just because you need the rules but also because it comes with 13 basic army lists. You can look at that and see what takes your fancy then look at buying the models you want.
Once you decide on a force thjen we might be able to give better tips on force composition.
As a general tip, armoured forces tend to be cheaper if that matters but infantry are more durable on the table.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!
