I know in the rulebook it says that machines that are troops cannot control objectives, but does this apply to Biker Nobs? I understand that this will mean Deff Dreads when they are troops, but I'm unsure for biker nobs.

The rulebook says that Vehicles cannot control objectives. Nob Bikers are Bikes, not vehicles.

He ment to say in 40k rules bikes are not vehicles. Clearly he did not mean to offend the biker nation by saying bikes are not vehicles

on the other hand Nobz they decided it was in the best interest of ork society that they "Go Green" as such they specifically modified their warbikes to not make giant smoke, dust, grit, clouds. Instead they are all about driving with clean air, one might say their bikes Gak out rainbows.

In 40k, Bikes are not vehicles.

IMO i'd say yes they can control objectives because it's still a troop choice. Just an upgrade.

Now this just leaves the statement that nob bikers are bikes...
*insert crude comment here, though how it would apply to orks is anyone's guess *
They can control objectives, but will generally be rushing about krumping stuff until the last turn of the game anyway

Actually, more often then not, they end up controlling an objective that was controlled by the opponent at the beginning of last turn

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

True nuff.
They just don't tend to stay there, unless the turn counter is getting to games end.
Having a clean-up crew to come claim the objective while your bikernobs go clear another one for you works well for me.
Bikernobz are a blast for clearing camped units
