Assembly was a bear but I love the old Rogue Trader design.

One down, nine to go for this squad...

I havent seen many of these online. Anyone else out there giving them a shot?

Nice, I like your use of the Yellow on these guys. It really makes them pop. What are your plans for the rest of the army?

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

These are going to be sweet when they are finished. Did you make the wings yourself, or did they come like that? I'm not familiar with these figs...

Forgeworld kits, that mod the existing guardians. Thinking of putting together a group myself, Because I too appreciate the old RT design.
Looking at IA11, did you see you can take Venoms??

These are based off of RT era minis? Really? huh... who knew...

but yeah, i plan on picking up a bunch of conversion kits (enough for 50 or so guardians) once i am gainfully employed, hopefully soon. I think I'm going to get dark eldar reaver jetbiker heads (the domed helmet looking ones) and use those in place of the rebreather style helmets on these. I think the jetbiker heads look more spacesuit-esque.

Love the RT-era paintjob on the helmet...

Thanks for the comments and encouragement!

Im basing my scheme on the full page picture of eldar corsairs in the book of the astronomicon from back in the RT days.
That image had more of the swirly black pattern on the helms than the tiger stripes that were also common on eldar back then.
Im in an escalating painting tournament and I'm way behind. This is my first time working with Forgeworld resin and getting the mold lines and flash off are more of a pain in the rear than I expected. All the las blasters and wings were warped but that was remedied but the old hot water dip trick.

Im using bases from Dragonforge.com - I really like the way they fit with the theme of the models.

More pix shortly!

So what are your initial plans for this army? I mean, just getting ot around 500-750 pts. (Depending on where your league starts you off.)?

Also, good luck with this army. The Eldar army usually has to work together like a well-oiled killing machine lest it be dragged into the CC actions they usually can't win. This army has pretty much all Jump Packs, so I think that having a solid core of Jump-packing Eldar for starters is good, alongside a few of their Walkers for tank-busting. Just my opinion.

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

The league starts at 500 and goes up to 1500 by summer so I intend to grow it a bit.
Im attracted to the forgeworld hornets and the jet war walkers but for the next bit I'm going to do up a squad of Dark Eldar Kabalites and a small squad of outcast flame dragons.

The jet packs (as opposed to jump packs) and the las-blasters with 24" range and Assault 2 should make for a challenging moving target - hopefully...

So far working with resin hasn't impressed me much so we'll see how far I take this.

Appreciate the thoughts - I suck at strategy and typically play Chaos SM.

I think the Corsair list is phenomenal. My build would be 3 units of corsairs w/ double EMLs, and then outfit the 3 units of 3 Wasps w/ double scatter lasers. The dual-use nature of the EML makes them ideal for popping tanks while also providing your squad with a decent anti-infantry power. The scatter laser spam is great for mopping up whatever comes out of the destroyed transports, or can itself be used to knock enemy armor out of the game. Take some Warp Hunters in Heavy and Hornets in Fast (might I recommend dual pulse laser spam? Corsairs can do Psyflemen waaaay better than Grey Knights ever can.

That would indeed be a good list - unfortunately the heavy weapons are packaged in such a way that it's tough to do.

Here is the inspiration for the paint scheme

They had to be tougher, they were PIRATE SPACE ELVES instead of hand-wringing hedonists like the Eldar of today!
