Greetings Dakkanoughts, I am in need of your help this evening. I'm trying to make an eldar list for a local tournament but I have never even played as Eldar before, any tips or advice for me?

It would be best if you make a list of units you like, and a list that you think would work and then people will help you with that list.

There are a couple of ways of doing eldar, namely lots of transports or lots of infantry on foot.
For lots of transports, I tend to do mass dire avengers with bladestorm and fire dragons for anti-tank in wave serpents.
A farseer with doom is a great idea no matter what.

What is your guys' opinion on wraithlords?

poison weapons will be his bane if there are dark eldar, hidden power fists in mobs of orks, lascannons for sm and pwer fists, rail guns from the tau. vindicators from sm and csm, obliterators, well i think thats all the nasty stuff oh year khorne berserkers with power fists on the charge.

i dunno my buddy uses a wraith lord and when i play him with my de i kill it by turn two.

another thing is there needs to be a spirit seer or a farseer near him so he doesnt accidently go stupid.
you could always take some dark reapers with a ml and fast shot. good for meq and random vehicle shots.

How about Autarchs?

If your using eldar on foot, a wraithlord or two is awesome.
The autarch works best if you have many units coming in from reserve

I was thinking warwalker spam with a couple of groups of fire dragons in wave serpents for the main theme.

Fire Dragons in a tank is a good choice, but don't take more than 6 in a group. I find anymore is overkill. Equip the Wave Serpent with shikens if you want more shots. If not scatter lasers?
Then I would go with some troop like a squad or 2 of Dire Avengers, Exarch with bladestorm in a wave serpent. A squad of guardians with a weapon platform for holding objectives may be a good choice too

Dark reapers, dire avengers, wraithlord's, howling banshees and fire dragons are the most anti-marine units in eldar I know

Conceal gives the warlocks a 5+ cover save, but their 4+ invuln is better! So give one Embolden and one enhance, with the two destructors. Lets you reroll ld tests including Psychic tests and you now hit MEQ on a 3+ and before them! Change out the Guardians weapon to be Scatter Laser. The number of shots does more with their BS 3. I haven't fielded a Wraithlord in a long time but I'd definitely give him 2x flames. Flamer template is 9" (???) so it's almost the same range with a lot more potential. A lot of people run him with EML and BL so unno if that sword is worth it
