any idea on how to model this guy? I just want to do it for the hell of it... and thinking of possibly doing IG sometime in the future and having this guy as maybe a count as for Colonel Straken

I'd try to use the upper body of a sentinel pilot, legs from a either catachan or cadian. Arms from cadian with shoulder pads removed. Shield from plasticard and chainsword from wherever. The Catachan command squad has a suitable head with face mask and googles just greenstuff a cap and you're set to go.

There are a lot of IG parts with open and wide arms. I would just dig threw the bits box for IG arms that are open. With the new spures for the cadian you should be able to find a model with a hat that looks like that. The rest is just a bit of green stuff and or just grey paint to make him look like that. As well you can find a bit for the shield.
