A 9 man lance, 3 wide, of Bretonian knights charge a unit of 7 cold ones in line. They hit dead center of cold ones line, leaving 2 cold ones on each side with no base contact. Assuming they both have the same initiative, how many cold ones get to fight, 5 or 7?

Only those in base contact, whcih includes corner to corner.

So you have 75mm of frontage versus 175mm, meaning only 5 of the cold ones can fight, 3 direct btb and 2 corner to corner. Explicitly coveredin the rulebook
