Just three queries about the Tauros in the IA Apocalypse Book 2nd Ed.

It says any Tauros may be upgraded to a Venerator and that a Tauros squadron may be transported by a Valkyrie squadron. These must remain in coherency while transporting the Tauros Squadron.

I am happy with the rules for IA8 Tauros squadrons but in the above mentioned book I read it as you can now mix and match Tauros and Tauros Venerators in the same squadron. This brings me to my queries.

1. How would multiple hits from the same shooting effect the squadron with different AV. Scenario is Tac Squad fires at mixed squadron, only bolters hit and roll two sixes, the two Venerators AV 11 will stop bolters but not the one Tauros AV10.

2. Tauros Venerators in IA 8 had to be transported by Sky Talons, I read it as part of a mixed squadron they can not be transported by Valkyries.

3. Can each Valkyrie act independently after dropping off the Tauros Squadron. I would like it to be that they can act independently ( how great would that be ) but I read it as they will have to abide by the squadron rules

Thanks for you interest and answers

Not sure on 2 and 3, but I am fairly certain you use majority AV (similar to majority toughness in a mixed unit). If there is no majority, you would use the highest.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

No, you do not use majority AV. You use the AV of the vehicle closest to you - directly stated in the squadron rules.

#2: In IA8 and IAapoc2nd states a Tauros can be transported by a valkyrie. Tauros Venerators are different vehicles and can only ride in a Sky Talon. Best anology is SM IC, they can ride in a rhino, until they upgrade unto Termi armor. By upgrading, they have lost the ability to ride in the smaller transport. Even if they have a command squad with the option of a DT.

#3: It states a squadron on Tauros can ride in a Valkyrie "Squadron". I would say RAW it must be a single Valkyrie squadron to transport a single squadron of Tauros.
