If my one single Drop Pod drops down next to a bunch of Rhino full of Death Company (or maybe they are in that stupid Stormraven), by popping those transport open, will that force the Death Company piling into the Drop Pod and just keep trying to swing at it furiously?

If the person taking the DC has been stupid enough to not give them at least one Power fist then yes, otherwise Drop pod is probably dead pretty quickly...

3 str 9 autohits per fist. Plus the other dc could multi assault the squad in a drop pod.

Better off using a rhono and staying mobile. Then dc pfists hit on a 6 instead of autohitting.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Would they even really need the fists to begin with? They all have krak grenades standard. Though, to be fair, it is very common (dare to say standard) to have a few PFs/THs in a DC squad.

They could pop it with their krak grenades.

Plus, vehicles can't lock infantry units into close combat. Furthermore, when bailing out of a wrecked transport, the affected units can't deploy anywhere within 1" of an enemy unit (like a drop pod).

This strategy would only work if you broke the rules.

Although vehicle can't lock enemy units in combat, Rage USR requires DC to keep attacking the vehicle until it is dead. If god-forbid it is wrecked then whoever is inside is toast.

But yeah, it will require me to do some fancy positioning of the Ironclad Dreadnought inside in order to force Rage USR making the DC attacking the Drop Pod.
