Hello

Looking at building a furrioso librarian dread for an upcoming event, single dread tourney. I want to use this model, with blood angel rules. However, I don't want the normal blood angels rules. Want to paint as a Lamenters chapter dread. The question.

Is there a good spray paint I can use to get that sort of muted/dull yellow?

or

Should I use a air brush to get to that yellow? If so, what color foundation and then paint should I use?

Are the citidel paint gun a good enough airbrush to use?

Not every shadow, but any shadow

Easiest way to get a more muted yello is to use a black under coat. I used white undercoat for my Orks and they are very bright. Base coat in the Iyanden Darksun, wash with gryphone sepia then highlight with Sunburst yellow.

You can go darker in the yellows.

If you go for a spray can I'd look at some of the Tamiya's they have great colours and the coat so well.

Airbrushes are good but not necessary, they are a tool like any other.

I'd buy a cheap AB off eBay before the Citadeal spray gun. it is ok for a beginner but you soon get to the end of its capabilities.

I've found black undercoats to give a putrid, greenish tint to many yellows. If you want it muted, I'd base it with a lighter, yellowish brown (meaning the color you prime doesn't really matter, beyond determining how easy it is to get your brown basecoat).

Give a poke around the Dakka gallery at Imperial Fists, if you like. A number of Dakkanauts have developed "recipes" for a nice, dark, muted yellow when painting gritty IFs.
