Subject: [Video] Converting Miniatures with Real Chains Tutorial
Hi everyone. I thought I would put together a little video tutorial on how I add real chains to my Black Templar Space Marines. Sadly the video didn't record in HD so its not as good looking as my first vid. It is shorter though
Comments or questions are welcomed. On a different note can anyone recommend a good video editing app? I've come to the conclusion that MovieMaker kind of sucks. Thanks in advance.

Cool, glad you found it useful. I didn't get to show it but you can use a small dot of greenstuff to tack on the end of the chains as well. Gives you a little more wiggle room during placement.

so if you have a model that you want to do a full tabard. like full back and front would you incorporate it into the models belt or would you try and model one into the greenstuff that you are using to make the tabard? I'm trying to convert some assault marines into normal marines and want them to stand out and not look too much like they are still trying to fly.

I would probably wait until the greenstuff of the tabard is fully hardened then just overlay the chain completely around the waist of the marine. Make it wrap around the back and criss cross the chains at the front depending on how thick they are. If they are thick you might have to just make them meet at the front and let them hang downward 45 degrees, then take a small ball of greenstuff and flatten it out at the meeting point to create a round buckle. something like this:
I wrapped a herringbone type necklace fully around the waist of this terminator. I glued it straight across then glued the two lengths down the front , covering the joining points with the buckle.

Thanks. I think I'm getting better with the video making. The video is posted on my YouTube channel. You should be able to subscribe to it from the video.
Haven't worked up the nerve to try a full painting tutorial yet but it's on the horizon
