No, should I go; assault cannon/melta, or assault cannon/plasma cannon?

Ideally, go magnets. Other than that, both? I don't know. Blood Angels certainly use them all. There can hardly be a "non-BA"-configuration, because the entire thing is a Blood Angels first and (to date) near-exclusive vehicle in the first place. All thematically "unfitting" configurations wouldn't be in the Blood Angel Codex to begin with.

It's abit like asking which variant of wolves in the Codex are the most "fitting" for a Space Wolves army/style of play.

It hardly matters, the Stormraven usually wont last long enough for you to get many shots with it anyway.

FWIW I use TL Assault Cannon/TL Multi-Melta

Same here. I also confirm you don't usually get many shots. AV12 is pretty easy to kill unless you're flat out all the time, and it's a highly visible target so draws fire like mad. (Which does mean it can be an effective decoy for the rhinos and razors to make it intact)

It depends on your Meta.

IMO the SR kits is good enough I didn't feel the need to glue the weapons on. I find they all stick on really well and hold through out the game

To be fair, you SHOULD be flat out all the time. With PotMS, you can Flat Out and still Melta tanks, or if you're out of range, Bloodstrike Missiles are pretty nasty too.

You can flat out most of the time. Except when you do not have the first turn, and when you need your dreadnought of pain and your unit in the front to assault something.

and with Flat out you only get one of the two main weapons (Crappy for a Heavy Support Choice) and none of the Bloodstrike Missiles.

Plus a 4+ only goes so far, 4 ML's Dev squad will be able to stun or immobilize or wreck it usually in one volley.

at AV 12, its underwhelming for the points cost.
