The actual song on the album was song by Michael Nesmith and sounds a lot different, but in honor of his passing I'll post this rare version of If I Ever Get to Saginaw, one of the lesser known but better Monkees songs, sung by Davy Jones.

Even though the Monkees were well well before my time, I’m very familiar with the re-runs of their TV show (which was awesome). I always liked Davy Jones as he showed the most pride for being in the group.
Tis a sad day.

Mickey Dolanz once said it was kind of cool how they turned into an actual band with albums being put out during the course of the show, almost as strange to him as if Lenard Nimoy would have turned into an actual Vulcan during the filming of Star Trek.
