Here's my conundrum as my friend and I stumble through this lofty, and often Swiss cheese-like, rule set: Extra ccw's grants +1 attack, but nothing grants these additional ccw's. They go into wonderful detail about having two pistols or two swords, but as I understand it, a member of unit may only have the wa rgear allowed. For instance, an ork boy has a choppa and slugga which would grant said extra attack, but nothing says I can give him two sluggas or two choppas. The benefit or drawback of doing so are moot as it's only a cosmetic choice, but the fact remains that one page says "go for it" and there is no second page of "how to go about doing that."

This may be an incredibly dumb thing to bring up, but I want certain things. I want to make my each of models unique, but I don't want to be"technically" wrong for a cosmetic choice. I know that the grey areas can be sharpened into contrast with a willing opponent, but my competitive nature wants to analyze the rules and create my own stratagem.

Do or do not, there is no try.

Under the couch

I'm not sure what the question is.

Some units have access to mulitple CCWs. Some don't. Those that do will benefit from the bonus for having them. Those that don't, won't.

What was the issue?

Just put the Sluggas pistol on his side in a orky-holster, and have him running crazed into battle with two choppas. That way you can still fire his pistol, but, get the cool factor of the choppas.

Doesn't really make a difference in the scheme of things they can or can't do.

Is there a permanent stickied thread for Chaos players to complain every time someone/anyone gets models or rules besides them? If not, there should be.

The rulebook simply tells you what you can do in certain situations. The codex is what tells you how to get the wargear that is required for those situations to occur.

In your Ork Boy example, nothing in the Ork codex allows the unit to take two pistols (though it's not uncommon to see people making models with two pistols and simply treating them as a pistol and close combat weapon - this is usually known as "counts as", i.e. the model "counts as" having a pistol and CCW). Some, but not all, codices have units that can have two pistols, and those are the cases that the rulebook is trying to cover.

In other words, the rulebook is simply telling you what happens when a model has two pistols. It's up to the individual codex to determine whether a model can take two pistols or not.

As already mentioned, if you want to take an Ork with two choppas, then I doubt anyone will have a problem with it. Just model a pistol in a holster if you think someone will make a big deal out of it, but most people (or, at least, everyone I've ever met) are fine with assuming that a model will always have its basic wargear.
