Hi guys ive designed a themed lamenters list using the blood angel codex which includes 2 storm ravens with just extra armour upgrades...is this enough?

Depends on what you are planning to do with them. For my GK I use them as fast transports and tank hunters (TL MM and TL LC). Are yours going to be transports or gunships?

Doesn't Draigostar rely heavily on Storm Ravens?

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

It does, but this is for BA, I was just giving an example of how I use mine and asking the OP how he wants to use them in his army.

Extra armor is not needed.

2 SR's mean that 1 will have a chance of getting to move once.

3 SR's is better than 3, but that is all your HS.

If you take only 1 make sure you are running a list at 1250 points or less. at 1500-2k you should run 2 or 3 If you are running them.

Depends if youre doing a 10 man squad or 5 man squads.. At 2500 you can have the 10 man and still have a sr in the list for a just in case combat squading pallys.

Its a 1.5k list and i have two. I couldnt afford 3 i have a reclusarch and 3 sanguinary priests with power swords. 3 units of 10 assault marines with 2 flamers in each unit and a power swordnin each unit aswel. The rech and the priests all have jump packs and go with them...and obviously my 2 sr...

From the sounds of it you need them to fill in the anti-tank role. Personally I have magnetized my SRs so I can swap the weapons but I highly recommend using the MM for the front and almost any of the other weapons for the turret, TL PLasma Cannon is probably your best bet though.

Extra armour is handy, that way if you do get Stunned it is downgraded and you can move flat-out to get the cover save and still fire a weapon (YaY PotMS). I don't know about in the BA codex, but in the GK codex only the missile launcher costs points to put on, the rest are all free upgrades.

Would you recomend switching the heavy bolters for multi meltas but keep the ass cannons? So theyre versatile?

I know, and I would hope the options for the SR in the GK book is almost entirely the same as in the BA codex. I would say yes, definitely use the multi-melta for the front, the assault cannons for the top aren't bad but my absolute recommendation is to magnetize the turret guns and try each out. As I said before it looks like you need them as tank hunters so keep that in mind.

I'd run a Storm Raven as a transport first, with the potential to be a bristling tank hunter after it does it's main job (which is the same way I run my Land Raider for that matter). The 24" movement per turn is just too juicy to pass up.

I throw a multi melta on and it just works great, 4+ cover save from moving 24 inches and being able to fire melta is perfect.

It can move cruising speed (12") and still disembark. Or you can disembark if it moves between 13" and 24" using it's special Skies of Blood rule (i think that is what it's called, it's called something different in the GK book)

Yea but then i cant assault with that. So its still a 12" move. 2" disembark. 6"assault... Pretty cool... Would you reconend having 2 smaller units then? In the transport? Or keep the 3 seperate?

I tend to run the SR in a mech list as both a Furioso delivery system and a hunter for something that will hurt the rest of the mech in my army.

Works great that way as there isn't a ton of point put into them so they aren't a huge threat so they tend not to have alot of fire focused on them
