Right Here

I received this in the mail a few days ago, it's been a wonderful purchase. I purchased it on the merits of it's reviews and so far it has been fantastic. It's a great set up for beginners looking to get into airbrushing. The compressor is solid and provides good airflow. The brush is a decent quality, not the best, but definitely good enough to pick out details on a stegadon, and still provide a wide enough arc to prime large areas. I know a lot of people are looking to airbrush without breaking their bank, this is a great option

How loud is it? I've been thinking about getting this as well.

I was thinking it's gonna be super loud, but it's quite the opposite, If I have it on my floor rather than my desk it's comparable to a loud computer.

Cool, i'm really considering this.

I was also thinking of getting this: http://www.chicagoairbrushsupply.com/d3000.html but i can't find any reviews on it. I wonder if anyone here has this. I was thinking this and the Iwata Neo for roughly $200 total. Dunno...

Hey guys, I would avoid getting that compressor.
It uses a piston to generate the air pressure, which relies on a certain amount of mechanical friction to work. Friction makes heat. Heat makes the stored air in the compressor hot. Traveling through your air hose to the brush cools the air.
As you may remember from school, hot air that becomes cold creates condensation.
So after about ten minutes of painting with this setup, you will begin to be spraying water from the brush as well as paint.

There are other compressors that store a large resevoir of air, which allows it to cool, but you can also go to the pet store and buy a fish tank air compressor.
Its cheaper, creates pressure through a membrane with less mechanical friction, and will allow you to use it for longer without watering your paint.

The brush looks fine though, I like the large barrel top fed brush as opposed to any kind of tube into a well of paint.

I have noticed the compressor getting hot, this however does have a reservoir which stores air, I haven't had an issue with water coming through yet.

If you are worried about water in your lines, you could always get a moisture trap that attaches to the airbrush. That way the moisture in the air is removed right before entering into the brush itself. Works for me, and they shouldnt cost you any more than a few dollars at any hobby store that sells airbrush accessories.

Actually a membrane pump would be the worst possible option to power an airbrush based upon how it works mechanically.

Your only other reliable option for a compressor would be a screw type compressor and they aren't generally made within this specific range.

If your worriedabout moisture buy yourself a moisture trap, or use your compressor in a dehumidified room.
