Bought it for $36 australian yesterday with all the DLCs. Brand new too, nice snag if i do say so myself.

Anyways, opinions? I think its not to bad so far. Especially liking the beginning video.

I love pretty much everything about it.
Getting the 2nd one as well.

I played the hell out of it and all the DLC as Roland (turrets are fun, cyan rarity corrosive heavy machine guns moreso) and over the past few weeks I decided to replay it again as Lilith, where I'm now halfway through play-through 2. The dialogue still makes me laugh.

Lilith is hugely overpowered compared to the other classes though.

Really looking forwards to Borderlands 2 - the gunzerker class sounds entertaining.

Bah, Roland is the most awesome for team play, though.

Oh, you guys are surrounded by Angry Midgets and all about 50% health? Lemme just fire in five rockets, each healing you guys for how much damage they do, AND hurting the enemies at the same time. Not to mention everyone gets lots of ammo because of my Class.

The Germans are wrong. Ze Healing leaves plenty of time for ze hurting!

Bone head is giving me trouble atm, hes lvl 11 and im lvl 7, mah damn turrets aint doing gak.

You have to do the missions in Skag Valley first...

I broke the game at level 55.

I found a gun that did 450 damage x3 per shot, fired at 11.6 seconds, had a 79 round clip, and had a 1.75x reload speed.

Add that with full Assault Rifle Perk with Roland, and a Mod that did +80% fire rate and +55% clip capacity, with a level 50 Assault Rifle skill, and yeah.

It killed Clawmerax in around a minute and a half.

I have a shield you can't penetrate

I did the skag valley stuff...

Well then there must be something else for you to do.
That's they way it works IIRC...
You get that mission before you can actually pull it off with any level of ease...
Do all other missions first and then try, if you can't...
Then try harder...

The ending of the main game is pretty lame imo.

However they more than made up for it with the "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx" expansion.

Great, now I'm downloading it all (and all DLCs) on PC.

Time to play it through all over again...

heh loved this game. Ran a soldier, then a sniper... still in the middle of a game somewhere with the big guy... gets mad and punches peoples' heads off, its fantastic.

Claptrap was utterly annoying.

The promised gun varieties was a huge let down too. You didn't get millions of guns, you got like 20, that occasionally had a different color paint job or a different scope on them.

Everyone wore some sort of mask, so no facial expressions. Sometimes no faces at all. Screamed lazy devs to me.

Enemy variety was lacking.

Ending was terrible.

To me it's an overrated average game.

This was a let down for me, as well. It wasn't until the Secret Armory did guns finally start getting unique....

I thought it was rather brilliant; everyone is searching for a Vault in order to make their wildest dreams come true, and it turns out to be Cthulu. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

It's more like 'I found the easiest way of playing the game and played through it as fast as i could, got all achievements and then never played it again'

Not quite sure I understand where you went with that, but I think I do. On dakka, I generally only complain about games. I've tried promoting games before (like Breakdown for 360, which blew not only me away, but several people, that's why they talked about it in magazines for as long as they did and wondered why it wasn't more popular), but for the most part I've found people really don't listen when you praise something, it's only when a game is bad enough for you to complain about do they listen.

Borderlands was a stinker. I'm not denying it's popularity (sorta like how gaga and beiber are popular), I'm merely informing those who wish to know how I felt about the game.

I got the GotY edition on Steam yesterday for a fiver. Played it on the 360 when it first came out, but it was my brother's, and he's gone to live with my dad. I played Mordecai on the 360 and it was quite fun, so decided to try Lilith this run.

Currently doing Co-Op with a friend, doing it dual Lilith, and it's actually not as OP as you'd think... or we're just both terrible at it xD

Just started co-oping it after we all had it for £5 for all DLC too from steam at Christmas.

Very fun, we've got to the "city" (tiny town) so far, around level 22.

^ im nearly there, im about to do the end battle at the mine, Sledge I think.

Any pointers?
