I'm putting together my Skaven and thought I'd share. Mostly just IoB guys for now, but there's some surprises and scratch-builds thrown in there as well.

I'll start with my first Rat-Ogre

I like how the albino/lab rat color scheme turned out- I think I'll be using for all my Rat Ogres and unit champions. I feel like the base is a bit plain, any suggestions of things I could do to spruce it up a bit?

What sort of theme are you going for in respect of the bases? It looks like it's meant to be a Medieval style cobbled street is that right? If so, whack some old-fashioned barrels and crates, maybe a couple of broken empire halberds or shields, something like that. Even a bloodied and battered Empire soldier?

Since it's a Rat Ogre, you have room on the base to make it stand out, so take a look on a bits site at what sort of paraphernalia would look good at his clawed feet. I wouldn't bother with all that sort of thing on the bases of a 60strong unit of skaven slaves though (maybe some stuff on the outside of the movement tray).

(3000+ Points)
Lizardmen (3000+ point 8th ed army)
GSC (1500ish points)
Cothique High Elves, Legio Astorum, Flesh Tearers, and plenty more on the go.

Next, my unit of "Skaven" Slaves- The concept is that my army traded for these lizard-men who were captured in the southlands.

On a practical level, I have a bunch of these guys from the 5th edition starter set, and don't plan on starting a Lizardmen army anytime soon, so I converted them. I also don't plan on taking them to tournaments, so don't really care about WYSIWYG with them, in terms of equipment

Filler 1-

The rider was put together from a Mordheim sprue. I believe it's the same as the night runners sprue. His legs were from a goblin wolf-rider.

I think that the base for these guys are too plain, too. Any ideas?

Filler 2

I've got 12 more of the Skinks to paint, but for now, I'm working on other things!

Yep, good ideas. I've got some old Mordheim figures/equipment I can go through.

You could try adding some symbols that look like they've been branded or tatooed on to the skin of the lizardmen or maybe add a broken barrell or drain cover-manhole type thing on the base like 'mould2k' suggested.

That's a really good idea. I'll try that as I paint the last 12, and if they look good, I'll go back and do it on the rest. Cheers!

spotted ya on reddit too!

Good work dude, My only recommendation is to maybe add more depth to the rat ogre's fur, just seems kinda flat. Like the idea of lizardmen slaves, those would go perfectly with my Clan Pestilens army.

I like your gold jewelry chain! Have you ever taken a look at bits for model trains? I've used HO scale towing chain before, and it just looks too awesome on figs at the 28mm scale. These look pretty sweet so far. Maybe some moss or grass in the cracks of the bricks, by the way, to spice up the bases.

Some updates.

I've been working on a Skaven Mordheim band for the most part, but they'll be dual purposed as Clanrats and Gutter runners. I'll post pics of them once they're no longer needed for the current game.

For now, though, I've got a picture of my first Greenstuff Sculpt- Paw Mei. I didn't think any of the models I own worked well as a Clan Eshin sorcerer, so I gave sculpting a go. Certainly not GW quality, but I don't think it's bad for a first effort. I can only get better, right?

There's more images in the gallery if you're interested

I'm also working on a scratch-built Warp Lighting thrower. I'm reasonably happy with it, but I don't want to finish it up before I have some crew to interact with it in some way.

I've found that my favorite thing about Skaven is the ability to take almost anything and re-purpose it as a bit of Skaven machinery! Much like the Skaven themselves, I guess I'm a natural scavenger!

Finally, may I say how awesome natural light is for photos? I'm kinda embarrassed by my top photos now. Hurray Spring!
