My cousin is my only opponent and he plays SW I play BA I was wondering how you go about beating them. Counter Attack kinda scares me and he says something about wolf claws getting 4 attacks? Idk seemed off.

If its a wolf guard with a pair of wolf claws, yes they can have four attacks. Depending on your list, I assume a few things.

Always get the charge, because if you have a Sanguinary Priest nearby, you will wound easier and usually go first in assault.

If you using razorbacks w/assault marines, you have the advantage of being able to go 12 inches to fire one gun or 18 inches flat out.

Lastly, multi-assaulting a squad will ensue victory. Never fight a fair fight with SW or anyone.

Very sound advice. Currently I have these models at my disposal.

Tycho
1 Drop Pod (un-assembled0
2 Rhino/Raz (un-assembled)
10 Tac marines
10 assault marines
1 pred with AC and HB spons
5 scouts (2 w/ cc, 2 w/ shotguns, 2 with sniper rifles)
8 DC (2 pf, 1 th,)
5 Devs (1 ML, 1 PC, 1 MM, 1 LC)
2 Chaplains (1 in term)

I believe that is all I have. I have random bits that I could possibly assemble more MLs I noticed on here people really favor MLs.

Is your opponent someone who has also just started? If he has an established, competitive army he's probably spent at least 2-3 times as much money building an optimized force which you aren't really equipped to fight on even terms with these models.

If he too has a limited supply of models, you may be in good shape; otherwise it's an uphill fight.

You could try a list of roughly:

Reclusiarch + Death Company in Rhino
10 assault marines with jump packs, fist, 2 melta, and jump pack chaplain
5 Scouts hiding with camo cloaks.
2 devastator squads (use the extra tac marine bodies) one squad with a Razorback for fire support (don't embark in it).
Predator with AC & lascannon sponsons (you want to switch out the HBs).

That's a workable core for an army.

If you want to buy one model to make a big difference buy mephiston there isnt much in a SW army that can handle him in CC. Just be careful to hide him out of LoS behind vehicles until your ready to charge him in.

Um, if said SW player only got started, beating a newbie isn't the thing you want to do. As said, if he played SW for a while, sure.

Your going to spend half your points on one model? Granted there is very little at 500 points that any army can do to stop him, but its a one time pony. I guarantee that if the OP brings Mephy he will only get 1 game in. The SW player will never play against him again with that model at that points level.

lol exactly. Mephiston seems to be the choice when going for blood (so to speak.) My cousin is 28 and I am 23 he's not an infant. He is also a terrible winner so if he where to beat me I'd never hear the end of it. That is why I'm posting Sanguinius vs Russ.

Okay, for 500pts you've got a pretty ample model supply.

Assaulty:
Reclusiarch: 130
with 5 Death Company with 1 power fist: 125
In Razorback w/Hunter-Killer, Dozer Blade: 70
8 Assault Marines w/melta, power fist: 189
Sanguinary Priest w/Jump Pack, power weapon: 90
499

When you get up to 750 adding a devastator squad will be good. And five flaming dragons, I have been advised to recommend, by the drunken wench on the couch with me.

There's one problem with Mephiston at 500 points. A Rune Priest will kill him outright 1 time in 6 with Jaws, while costing less than half his points, meaning that the rest of the Wolves will pummel the other 250 points of your army. In addition, the Rune Priest has far more reliable psychic defense, reducing Meph's mobility and slightly degrading his performance in combat.

Lol sounds like a good wench. I'll do what I can with what I have for now but I'll defiantly get Mephiston next time I purchase pieces. (Fluff-I hope he doesn't become a traitor.)

I was thinking biggest DC that I can afford with as many pw as I can get and Chaplin with 5 jump marines (pw. melta) or five Tac. (ML. Melta or flamer, pw.)
