Just a few questions.

1) How balanced is the game, say, compared to 7th Ed Fantasy (Super Broken), Present day 40k (Unbalanced), LotR SBG (Fairly Well Balanced), etc.

2) Can someone give me an overview of the playstyle(s) of each faction, as well as counters (if there are any).

3) Any overall tips

Or link to anywhere where I can get this info. Thanks a lot!

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause.

It's just human nature Malfred, the sticky could flash in rainbow colors and light up an entire room with it's brightness and people would skip it just because it's a sticky. The darn things get overused these days.

honestly, malfred I noticed the sticky but as someone who wasn't sure what to expect from the game completely it was still all terms that you needed to read the rules to understand

1: the core rules are very balanced. I would say the prime and primal mk2 books are two of the best publications in the industry to date. The armies are all so close to even you need a magnifying glass to understand what people complain about. There are a few models that are over or under the curve but no faction seems to have more or less. The pigmen minions are probably the only exception as they seem to be noticeably weaker right now, but even they can bring one or two good lists.

2: The factions have traits they value higher than others, but none of them are confined to just one playstyle. Malfred's link should help with faction specifics but most factions can perform most functions admirably with the right list.

3: Start small and don't rush in. If you get too eager and try diving straight in to a 50 point list you will have much more trouble learning anything than if you started at 15 and worked your way up. The games scale very well and are very enjoyable even at lower points.
