Hey guys! I'm going to be buying a few new Tyranids, and wanted to hear some input from you regarding which ones to get.

I've been eyeing the new Tyrant kit, as well as the Tyrannofex. I would like to get both, but am unsure if I will be able to utilize the Tyrant in my army with any regularity. I usually run a Tyrant on foot, and occasionally winged - I'd be building the kit with the wings as it's very appealing to me.

My dilemma arises when I consider that I will be able to use either 2 Tyrannofexes (or one Tfex and one Tervigon) in almost any build - compared to having two Tyrants, one winged... I just don't see myself running both very often at all.

What would you guys do? The Tyrant will likely end up just being a painting project that seldom sees use (but is pretty awesome regardless), while the monstrous monsters will be beating up on the horde's meals with great regularity. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts...

I'd say get one of each kit. In my opinion if you are playing at 2K the Hive Tyrant or Swarmlord is a great HQ choice for the Nids. You definitely need a Tervigon. If a Hive Tyrant/ Swarmlord isn't used often in game for you then I think you solved your own problem.

You're right - having a flyrant and a normal tyrant is good for options, but you'll never use both in one game outside of Apocalypse. A Tervigon and Tyrannofex (or two Tervigons) is something you could utilize quite often.

I'd go with 2 Tervigon kits, though I say that because I'm in the same situation. I have a FW Flyrant already, and while I want a Tyrant on foot for versatility, I'm quite happy running the big ol' bat. A Tervigon and a Tyrannofex add to my army without forcing me to make a choice in most games.

If you have two metal tyrants( Someone quiting nids gave me a extra tyrent and 80 classic stealer) like i do the new kit allows you to have a walking tyrant, a swarmlord, and the new flyrant. I would go the two tranfex as well. I don't use a tervagon so i can say about them.

i would magnetize the tyrannofex/tervigon if you could just because if you ever use a reserve list an outflanking tervigon is a beast.
