So for some models im currently working on (Chaos raptors and Tyranid gargoyles) i need a relatively easy way to make some wings that arent entirely made out of GS as i am a useless sculptor. Unfortunately i cant seem to find any good tutorials online can you help me out dakka?

$5 a pair is a bit expensive for something im probably going to need 30+ of, hence why id prefer to scratch build these.

Here's an idea that I might work on a tut for tomorrow. Find a pic of wings online save the image and place it in a document the scale it down to the right size to fit your model. I'm thinking bat wings sprawled out .print them out on som heavy card stock, like 110lb is good. Cut them out carefully and then give the curve you want . Now saturate them twitch either watered down pva or super glue( what I would do) after hey are dry, add greenstuff over where the limbs would be for the wings.

I'm going to try this myself and post he results.

Or you can visit your local toy store and look for cheap small toys with bat wings.

I've seen wings like that done before. Not a fan of them, but for the larger ones I'd say segment the card, bend the segments slightly, add wire as the bone structure and GS it together to make it look better.

I've seen a couple of tyranid armies before where they made dragonfly like wings out of clear plastic cut from blister packs, with veins painted on.
It looked like a fairly quick and easy conversion.

Masking-tape and paper clips.

Lay a piece of masking-tape with the sticky side up.
Cut pieces of paper-clips and lay them as a skeleton.
Put another piece of masking-tape on top (sticky side down obviously).
Cut to shape and glue on model.

Or add some wire to existing limbs and add masking-tape.
