IMHO Orks lack a good middle-range armoured vehicle between the Looted Wagon (with front AV11) and Battle Wagon (with front AV14). Even the Battlewagon isn't that great an actual tank as its designed more as a transport. So here's an attempt to create a "Looted Tank" (as opposed to "Wagon"), based on the concept of a Looted Predator or even Leman Russ.

  • Points: 70
    BS Front Side Rear
    Looted Tank 2 13 11 10

    Unit Comp: 1 Looted Tank
    Unit Type: Vehicle (Tank)

    Options:

Must take one of the following main weapons:
    - Deffgun 15pts
    - Twin-Linked Deffgun 20pts
    - Kannon 15pts
    - Supa-Shoota 15pts
    - Twin-Linked Supa-Shoota 25pts
    - Zzap Gun 20pts
    - Killkannon 40pts

May take one of the following copula-mounted weapons

    - Big Shoota 5pts
    - Rokkit Launcha 10pts

It may take two side-mounted sponsons with the following weapons:

    - Twin-Linked Big Shootas 10pts
    - Skorchas 10pts
    - Rokkit Launchas 15pts
    - Kustom Mega-Blastas 20pts
    - Zzap Guns 30pts

May take any of the following equipment:

    - Reinforced Ram 5pts
    - Armour Plates 10pts
    - Grabbin' Klaw 5pts
    - Wreckin' Ball 5pts
    - Grot Riggers 5pts
    - Red Paint Job 5pts
    - Suped-Up Engine 20pts

    Equipment:

    SUPA SHOOTA

Fires like a regular Big Shoota, except roll d6 to determine number of shots. On a 6, the weapon counts as rending.

    SUPED-UP ENGINE

    Vehicle counts as Fast.

    SPECIAL RULES:
    Don't Press Dat!

  • As you can see I took the liberty of creating two bits of special equipment for it: A Supa-Shoota, which is basically a rotary Big Shoota firing D6 S5 shots that can rend and is sort of an Orky Assault Cannon; and Suped-Up Engines that turn the tank into a Fast Vehicle (something I would've loved to see for the Battlewagon/Looted Wagon).

Here are some examples of some tank variations you could make:

"Da Destrukta": Deffgun, Sponson Twin-Linked Big Shootas - 95pts

"Da Annihilata": Zzap Gun, Sponson Zzap Guns - 120pts

"Rokky": Kannon, Copula Rokkit, Sponson Rokkits - 110pts

    "Dakka-Mobile": Twin-Linked Deffgun, Copula Big Shoota, Sponson Twin-Linked Big Shootas - 105pts

"Shootawagon": Twin-Linked Supa Shoota, Copula Big Shoota, Sponson Twin-Linked Big Shootas - 110pts

Quite low points-wise, maybe. Although, frankly, they are all Ork weapons hitting on 5s and 6s.

Whaddya think, would this be an appropriate addition to the Orky vehicle pool?

you could make a upgrade "grot gunners" or something to help wit the BS.

Of course they would never be allowed to play with da bigger gunz, but i could see them manning the smaller turrets...

Or Big Zappas and Supa Kannons! Maybe even Flakka Gunz

Although I suppose that would be encroaching on Big Trakk territory

Kinda like what you did though with the supa shoota, its like a looted assault cannon

I like it, the supa shoota is a very decent Ork version of the assault cannon too.

Sounds pretty cool. I'd rather like to see it fielded some time, and see how it does.

Looks cool, but there is a such vehicle already for the Orks: the Gun Wagon. Its and IA vehicle, and while rule-wise it is a piece of crap, its fluff is exactly what you are looking for.

And can i haz some more weapon options please? Like supakannon, flakka cannon, big zzappa, shunta and deff arsenal...

I feel like you should raise the points of the Supa Shoota and roll 2d6 for the amount of shots. A big shoota gets 3 str 5 shots to start off with, I would think the upgrade would give a possibility of far more shots. 2-12 shots, St5, Rends on a 6. That I would pay to have.

I agree with gpfunk. It seems like a lot more risk then reward. Rending is unlikely, and half the time, you get less shots. For more points. I'd stick with a nice, reliable big-shoota, thank you. But with more points, and 2d6, with rending on the result of a 6 in either die... yes please! Also, no killkannon. They kinda blow. It's like a half-range, large blast autocannon. For 6-4 times the price. Boomguns are subpar, but way better. Not worth 70 points though. Also, in regards to a bigger zzap gun, how about a heavy 3 zzap gun that rolls three times and takes the highest two? Points around 30?

I personally like this as with all those options it allows one to "loot" it as they see fit. Kudos to you.
