So I finally cracked and bought the Yu Jing starter box for Infinity (first impression: Oh my God, everyone is so tiny!!!)

Grad school is kicking my ass so even my normal snail's pace at painting has been reduced, but I'm hoping by the end of the summer to have two starter boxes painted up so I can learn to play the game with others.

So I need to decide on a color scheme. I don't really like the default color scheme from the rule book, with that pale Yu Jing orange color. But unlike Warhammer, where color schemes say something about your army (by identifying them with an established army), it really seems like the sky is the limit in Infinity. So how do people choose? How much variety is there usually in groups that have established Infinity as their game?

I'm just using the alt-scheme for my Yu-jing (red, white and black)
This one:

I'm not a fan of yellow or orange. Even my Tiger soldiers are done in black armour with urban camo striped fatigues.

My PanO (Neoterra) use a three tone blue and white scheme. It's simple, quick and gets the point across.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Oddly enough, I'm also starting Infinity with the Yu Jing starter (seems like the other players are PanO, Haqqislam, and Nomads). I'm going for a 'Ghost in the Shell' realistic scheme - greys/blacks, with bright green for electronics and dark greens for clothing.
