I just recently acquired a Baneblade. As the title of this thread suggests, though, I don't play IG; I play Orks. So, I got a couple questions.

1: If I were to Ork out one of these monstrosities, what vehicle does it closely resemble for the Orks? (What could I make it?)
2: I will soon be getting some plasticard and I've never worked with it before. What suggestions do you veteran scratch builders have for such a large project?
3: What parts from other Ork kits would you fellow Meks use, and how would you use them?

I want this thing to break the morale of my opponent before the game even gets started

Considering the Baneblade is an Apocalypse-only unit, and faction doesn't matter in Apocalypse, just use it as a Baneblade.

Apocalypse rules say you could run Ork Boyz, Eldar Fire Prisms, and Thunderwolf Cavalry all in the same army. People will cry cheese, but if you Orkify your Baneblade enough, they'll all think it's cool.

Underneath your painting desk

First off, I suggest amending your thread title by putting a ? on it somewhere, so we know it's a question. I dropped in thinking I'd find a looted baneblade...

But I'd love to help. Here are some brief answers to your questions-

1. This is perfect for a Skullhamma battlefortress. GW has rules for it on their site, I think. Essentially it's a fast superheavy with a giant cannon. In fact, the GW studio based their model off of a looted baneblade.
2. First off, take your time with cuts. Don't push too hard, and use a ruler for straight lines. I suggest a smaller project to get your feet wet, like building a cannon or a trukk cab or something.
3. This is an extremely broad question, haha. First you'll want plenty of smokestacks on the back, so CoD kits and tank gun barrels are going to be your friends. Ork glyphs are always good. Aside from that, really you can do anything. Just remember- rivets. And lots of them.

I hope some of this helps. I'm working on a skullhamma myself, based off a baneblade. PM me if you want to see some pics of its progress for visual ideas or something. Good luck!

Yeah, shoulda added a "?" my bad.

I kept thinking "Skullhamma Battlefortress," but for some reason I thought that was a suped up battlewagon. I'll have to check it out.

And yes, I'd be very interested to see what you're doing with yours. PM coming.

I can't really see myself doing this. People would cry cheese indeed. I'm more inclined to play to fluff then taking advantage of loosely defined rules like this. Now if I had IG models, I would do this. But right now, I'm 100% Ork, and I gotta keep it orky.

I think there is an ork version of a super heavy tank. There is no way they would give the imperium that and not expect the orks to steal it.

Yes there is the Skullhammer battle fortress from the main rule apoko book.

It's all good. Any suggestions on how I can make this behemoth nice and orky?

1. Cover baneblade in glue
2. Put into bits box
3. Shake!!!

Or, if you want a less stupid suggestion, give it a Deffrolla, lots of armored plates and random spiky bits

Here is a few I made a couple years ago, hopefully they will give you some inspiration.

Two of these were toy tanks I bought for $1.00 at a yard sale. The other one was a $100.00 baneblade.

I have to say that I am impressed by the amount of orkyness you've manged to pack into those tanks. Often Non-warhammer models do not look... Warhammery when converted but you have done a top job.
Sorry for the off topic post.

I try my best to make the toys look right. A lot of the time people just slap a few metal looking plates on the toy and call it a day. They need way more than that.

Also, wait till you see my fighta bommas I made out of some fischer price toys btw. I just need to take some pics of them.

Awesome. I can identify the Baneblade, but I couldn't tell the others weren't GW material. Excellent conversion. Definitely inspired. Thanks for sharing.

A suggestion on plasticard work, for orks armor, Ruin them, make them beat up and used.
Orks are scavenger so the most of the scrap metal they use is from a battlefield and is not top quality for sure.
Good luck and have fun, that's the best part for us Mekz!
