So I was reading the IG codex orders section, and noticed that under the "Get Back in the fight!" entry it says "If the order is successfully issued, the ordered unit immediately regroups if falling back (even if would not normally be able to do so due to casualties suffered, enemy proximity and so on...) or returns to normal (if it had gone to ground) As a result, the ordered squad may shoot and assault normally this turn"

Now, I have a couple of questions about this.

1. Do HWT's get to fire their heavy weapons if the unit didn't move that turn (for example, if they were pinned)? Technically, they didn't move and it does say they get to fire normally, but I'd like to be sure before I try to use that in a game.

2. Since the entry says "may shoot and assault as normal this turn", does this mean that even if they ran, a HWT could shoot, or lasguns can shoot a single 24" shot, as if they stood still? Or does it mean normally in regard to their actions, e.g, if they ran, heavy weapons couldnt shoot.

3. this one seems pretty obvious, but a unit that gets this order isnt able to run this turn correct? I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this one though.

Any help would be appreciated!

1. If the HWT was pinned and received the order, they would be able to shoot heavy weapons, as they did not move. If they were falling back, however, they would not be able to fire heavy weapons.
2. Orders are done first, so if you ran, you would not be able to shoot anything.
3. Yes, if you can shoot, you can run, unless the unit is not normally able to run.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

oh, whoops. On number 2, I just meant if they had ran away (falling back, whatever its called when theyre trying to run off the board) that turn. But you answered my question so its all good!

"As normal this turn" is the key phrase. Units which Rally count as moving that turn (see the morale rules), and so aren't able to fire heavy weapons the turn they rally.

Don't forget, HWTs also have 3 Lasguns. So if they fell back and were recovered by GBitF orders, they can still rapid fire their Lasguns...but not the Heavy weapons.
