This was my entry for the first category (single model 25-40 mm base, advanced section) of the painting competition over at reddit.com/r/warhammer. It ended up taking the win, which was unexpected, but appreciated.

The colour scheme I went with is very simple (maybe too simple for some?), but it appeals to me.I suppose that the haft of the staff could've been more exciting, but I had no idea what to do. The base is a bit toungue-in-cheek and very rushed, just so you know before you start ripping on it. Please, share your thoughts and criticism.

Great paintjob! I like the blue on black. (But now I have Kenny Wayne Sheppard stuck in my head...) However, I have to say I am not a fan of the pinned-up base. If you're going to have him levitating on his thingie, I think it might look better if you somehow concealed what's holding the rock aloft.

Like some sorts of vegetation? The illusion begins to look convincing once you're looking at it from any angle higher than 10°, which is basically it's going to be viewed it most of the time.. I'm not entirely happy with that base anyway, so I'll most likely re-visit it sometime soon and do a better job when I don't have to do everything in 1 hour.

The base confuses me a bit, but the model looks excellent.

That's one stunning Imotekh. I'm a huge fan of the simple two-tone paint scheme. The glowing effect gives the model a lot of "action" while maintaining that mechanical elegance that I've always thought really made the Necrons shine.

Well done sir.

I love that your paint job isn't overdone as so many are when trying to look "realistic". Well done, you deserved that win!

Really love the scheme and colors, clicked in thinking maybe another well done albeit generic Cron scheme but this is great stuff.

Going to do the whole army like that?

I'm not entirely sure. My Immortals (don't plan on using Warriors) will share a similar style (white shoulders and trim, black and blue weapons). The vehicles will be done in a style similar to what you see on Dark Eldar box-art (minus the red). I might experiment with more colours on other units like Crypteks.

I think my colour scheme looks pretty generic, but some of you seem to disagree. Anyway, I'm glad you guys like it. Thanks for all your comments.
