This is my current 2k Chaos Space Marine army that works pretty well. There are a few things I would like to change though and I would love some advice on what choice to go with. HQ- Daemon Prince w/ Wings, MoS, and LoS -155pts Daemon Prince w/ Wings, MoT, Doombolt, and Gift of Chaos -190pts Troops- 10 Berzerkers w/ Champion and Powerfist -250pts 10 Berzerkers w/ Champion and Powerfist -250pts 7 Plague Marines w/ 2 Plasma Guns, Champion w/ Powerfist, and Rhino w/ Havoc Launcher -281pts Elites- 6 Chosen w/ Icon of Chaos Glory and 5 Meltaguns -168pts Heavy Support- 2 Chaos Land Raiders w/ Possession -480pts 3 Obliterators -225pts Army Total -1999pts I'm thinking of dropping the Chosen Squad as it doesn't seem to do enough for me. Also, I think 3 Obliterators is too many as they all have to target the same thing, so I think I will drop one of those as well. That would leave me 244pts to work with. Here are a few units I'm thinking of spending the points on: Troops- 10 Chaos Marines w/ IoCG, 2 Plasma Guns, and a Rhino w/ Havoc Launcher -240pts or Elites- 5 Chaos Terminators w/ IoK, 4 Pairs of LCs, Heavy Flamer, and Chainfist -240pts Thoughts on which option to go with or an entirely new option to spend the points on.

You can split the obliterators into multiple heavy support slots if you take the terminators. Just buy one of your land raiders as a dedicated transport. Are you deepstriking the terminators or displacing one of the berzerker squads into a rhino?
Also, terminators don't have to be an assault squad. You could change them up a bit for termicide or field them as extra heavy support with reapers.
I would probably do something like 3 terminators, reaper, combo-melta x2, chain fist, then take the land raider as dedicated transport.
Do that twice and you can field both land raiders and all 3 obliterators in their own heavy slot. Although you may suffer some in kill point missions.

I've run that exact unit of terminators, and it's my favorite! You can save a HS slot by giving them that land raider and then you can break up the obliterators into 2 squads of two, if that's your style.
Chosen aren't the best, lol.

Do your chosen not have a vehicle to ride in? If not that might be a reason why they haven't performed. 12 inch range walking units tend to suck pretty hard. Give them some mobility and they will work better.

I'm Deep Striking the Terminators, but I can only afford them if I drop the Chosen AND 1 Obliterator. And I do want them to be assault Terminators. But are they the better choice over the CSM Squad as I only have 3 Troop choices?

27 cult troops is pretty good. Berzerkers are WS5 so that gives them some defense, and plagues are one of the toughest troops in the game. Both fearless also. So you don't really need the CSM squad. If you are making them deepstrike assault terminators you better put a personal icon on your berzerkers, so you can get them where you need them without fail.

Ok so if I take the Terminators I can drop the Havoc Launcher on my Rhino and give each Troop Squad a Personal Icon and hopefully that will allow the Terminators to show up were they need to be. But is this a fine trade for losing 6 Chosen and 1 Obliterator? I loose 5 Meltaguns and all the Obliterators weapons for a hard-hitting assault unit, but will I now be lacking in the shooting department? I'll still have 2 Lascannons or Plasma Cannons from the other Obliterators, 2 TL-Lascannos or 2 TL-Heavy Bolters (assuming I moved both LRs 6" so they each get to shoot 1 weapon), 2 Plasma Guns from the PMs, and Doombolt from the DP, plus LoS to move my targets around.

You are already running an assault heavy force. Giving your berzerkers more support is a good thing. You have enough shooting to take out the most imposing problems in an enemy list, ala C'tan, paladins, TH/SS termis, etc. Stay away from those and shoot them, and get your assault guys stuck in.
Fast Mech shooting armies will give you problems though. Storm Ravens or vendettas, chimeras full of melta guns, psyrifle dreads, stuff that can blow you up and stay out of your assault range will cause problems, especially if they de-mech you in your deployment zone.

What would be something that could solve that problem? Should I equip my Terminators to handle this and if so how? Give them the Mark of Tzeentch and some more shooting abilities?
5 Terminators w/ MoT, Reaperautocannon, 4 Combi-Meltas, and a Powerfist -240pts
It's more durable due to the 4+ invul and it has a lot more shooting power. Not sure if this would solve the problem though.

The only answer to mech is fielding more heavy weapons. Reapers are ok, but fielding 5 terminators isn't as good as fielding 2x3 with 2 reapers. Dreads are even cheaper, a twin linked las + ml dread is only 125 or so. 3 of those can lay down some fire, if they don't rage. But if they frenzy you better not be in front of them.
