With my Orks, I have a goal; To have a looted version of a vehicle from each army. I'm thinking about the Necrons' Monolith. I'd like to loot it into a Stompa, but I've never seen one and am not sure if it's big enough. So... is it?

Ha, that would be pretty awesome. I'm not a fan of the second one linked, but I think it could work, if you did it right.

If only ZUN!bar were here...

You will get fluff arguments from people insisting that necron technology can't be looted due to phasing out.

Personally I'd keep those people quiet and save yourself a pile of money by instead building a monolith-shaped stompa from plasticard - fluffwise, it would represent a mek's orky attempt at copying a monolith he battled against.

Oh! This is good to know. I usually play to fluff. Thanks for the heads up.

You'll get other people arguing the other way too, on the grounds that phase out technology must sometimes be so damaged it can't work, thus leaving battlefield wreckage behind Even GW seem to have trouble deciding, with necron warrior heads on the Chaos trophy racks.

When a monolith is destroyed, I thought all the tech energy leaves it leaving behind a sort of metal husk behind-almost like a ruined pyramid?

Could be a mek took that husk and made it into a stompa/thing.

Orks just slap on a tellyport interdikta. It's a box with a big red button and prevents phase out.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

In the old book, it was a little more ambiguous, but in the new codex they clearly state Necron tech either phases out, or should it be so damaged it cannot phase out, it self-destructs in a manner similar in appearance to phasing out (pg 5).

That being said, there's no real reason in my book that Orks couldn't loot one anyway, for various reasons - the "fluffiest" of which is that Necrons cannot understand how the Ork mind (and thus, their technology) work; see Imotekh the Stormlord.

Thus, I'd say that a monolith failing to either phase out or self-destruct is a textbook example of Orks "confounding Necron plans somehow".

One thing you can use as an excuse is the waaagh!!! Waaaagh!! generates changes in reality, that make once impossible things, very possible... (like ork guns shoot).

Get the fun, and do your loot... the waaagh can explain it all later

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...
